All Fiero windows behave in this manner.

This, together with the position of several dew wipe screws, is just more data to support my theory that some Pontiac designers suffer from severe "brain cloud".

Well, a big part of owning a fiero is taking the good with the bad. If you want some PERFECT car, you sure aren't looking in the right place But hey, what great sports car is reliable, anyway? I gladly trade reliability and practicality for performance and fun.

If you think Fieros have problems- I once owned a '67 Jag XKE. That one makes the Fiero seem totally trouble free.

Is it possible to modify the door/window to allow the window to go all the way down below the seals? Was this "problem" only on the Feiro, or was it on other models also?

What's really weird is how the windows stand out from the car body an inch or so when they're halfway up.

But look on the bright side - if you had a Countach, a DeLorean or a Subaru SVX, you'd have a sorry little mail-slot sized window. Now how many Value Meals can you fit through that?

I don't think there is enough gear left on the "regulator."

I think there's enough track to go another inch, but I think the crank is out of gear. you could pull off the door trim easy enough and see. you might have to drill new holes for the bottom stop.

Been there, done that.
There is an adjustable stop in the door, re-adjust it. Makes it easier to drive with your arm out the window.

I just want to make sure of this before I go digging. There IS an adjustable screw to allow the window to go all the way down? Sounds too easy. I like it, but nothing on my car is easy to do.

Take the door panel off and the paper under the door panel. Run the window up and down a few times to see the operation. When the window is down there is a nylon stop to stop the window. Adjust the nylon stop down to allow the window to come down more. I did mine a few years ago. While you are in the door is a good time to clean and lube.

I bet this also makes the dew wipes a helluva lot easier to replace as well.

STOP! ALERT!

I made a mistake! Mark the calender!

There is NOT an adjustable stop in the Fiero door. There is a rubber stop that I removed to allow the window to go down the extra ¼". I've been using it without the rubber stop for the last 4-5 years with no problems.
