first of all thanks cliff. ok this wire comes from inside the steering column, but i just don't see where it leads to. if you want another pic i will send it to cliff, unles ther is a way for me to post the pic by myself.so cliff can i do that?
I would have to agree with COOTER looks like cruise control wire connector. Couple weeks ago while upside down under the dash trying to figure out my elect problem (which I still haven't fixed) i saw something that looked similar and it was the cruise connector.

After having repaired/replaced the cruise control wiring on my 86 GT, I also agree - it's the cruise control connector. There are four wires going to this connector - two on one side and two on the other. This is an inexpensive connector technique - it's made of the same material that printed circuits are, with metalized traces. It mates to a plastic connector that will be found up beside the steering column (assuming that this vehicle has cruise control, and hasn't had a steering wheel/column transplant)

did you hear about the Volvo recall? Aparantly if you use certain spry cleaners around the steering wheel area you can generate enough static electricity to set off the air bag. Nasty.

that means the 1985 Fiero DID win the crash test safety award. Because there is no air bag to clean...........So all 500 airbags in a volvo would go off or just the one that got sprayed?
OUCH! How would you like to be in the E/R when some guy comes in with an aerosol can of cleaner sticking out of his forehead because the air-bag went off? That is terrible. I wonder how this little air bag problem was discovered.
ok guys thanks, i found the sucker. i trie it out but t doesn't work, i hear the relay kickin when i move the switch. so what could it be? the canister or the hoses or what?
