Well, someone in the family died and we had to postpone it. After a few years we decided not to go at all. I have been to the Hawaiian islands a couple of times after that and still think it's a great place to visit (mind you, last time was 6 years ago). Too bad the tourists have discovered it also...

I stayed on the island for about a week in 1988. At the time, back home I was driveing an 85 GT. On the island, I had to settle for a Mushtang. It was a convertible so not too bad. The GT would have been more fun on the trip up to the canyons. Aloha.

I hope you didn't burn your shoulders in that mustang, most people do in the convertables.

Cliff,
The Island is still a great place to be. Even though the tourist have found it, it is still very behind the times compared to the other Islands. We just avoid the tourist and go to hidden little beaches that we know of.

We have a 2 year old daughter and cant think of a better place to raise her. The family values are stronger here than anywhere that I have been.

Aloha for now
