The Helm service manual has a special wiper arm removal tool part # J-8966. I tried to remove my wipers with a screwdriver without much luck. I didn't want to break anything, so I decided to leave it alone. Anyone found something thats good for removing wiper arms without having to special ordering this tool?

lift the arms as high as they go, and look for a small hole near the rivit that make the hinge in the arm. Put a small nail in the hole and the arm will come off with some gentle rocking.

if you don't have the hole in the arms, then you can get the tool at allot of parts stores. The open I'm thinking of is from Lisle. Hook it on the end of the arm, and squeeze the tool and arm together.
