Can I make the doors on my fiero open up like on the kit cars without buying a complete kit?

Lambo kits have wing doors, pretty much all the others open the same way as a stock Fiero.

One thing I'd love to try, is a gullwing door mod on a T-top Fiero. :)

I don't think you can do a delorian style overhead lift... tho it would look wild. there are a bunch of structural things involved.

What might could be done is the one that swings up toward the front. there's a fair amount of space behind the fender that just air. It would have to open the back out enough to clear the body before it swings the back up, but it sure would make getting out in tight parking a snap. (there are days I'd like to kill the Fiero door designer!)

that I know of there are no kits for that. it would all be custom work. It sure as heck won't be easy. I can't see any structural reason it couldn't work.

I am doing a lambo kit now, and with the doors opening like that it makes getting into the car quite a feat. Also seeing that you would want the door to swing up you may have to reshape the door for I think that the lower corner would interfer with the jamb and the upper roof line needs attention because the glass would go striaght up not out. I agree it would be different but you are most likely looking at about 200+ hrs. work hardly worth the effort not to mention sealing out weather and wind.
