Heheh, but you would be telling the truth. The rest of us would be forced to be rude. Why bother with them.
Hell, I can be smoking a cigarette and some bum asks me for a smoke and I just say "sorry buddy, I don't smoke".
I had an interesting encounter after one of those situations too, heh. The bastards tried to mug me and met both my Rotty (big Aug) and the barrel of my 9mm. I promptly called the cops and the two guys were arrested a few blocks away. They didn't see my dog because he was at the end of his control leash taking a leak in the alley. Aug knocked the first (really big) guy down who was screaming like a little girl while I dew down on the second guy who had circled around to try and get behind me. The cops told me these guys had been at it for awhile and had actually stabbed a few people, man they really liked my dog. I never saw a knife or things would have ended in another manner.
We generously donate to the food bank and buy Girl Scout cookies but nobody gets my money on the street, I don't give beggars the time of day. No respect? absolutely.

Ohhhh.... yet another burn from Team Zoro.
I didn't even need to read past this part of your bullshit to come to the conclusion that you are a complete ass hole and seriously lack anything resembling palpable judgment.

It's not a glamorous position to begin with and they certainly wont get anything by being nasty to you, they know this too so you can be fairly confident they wont be.
Seriously... just look at them and treat them as you would like to be treated... They are human beings just like you. |

they were dressed better than i am (and look better fed than me) i'm in a grease covered work uniform they were wearing shiny black leather coats and new blue jeans.

No... In my opinion, your attitude sucked royal ass. Saying "no" with your back turned to the individual is VERY arrogant and disrespectful. You "shouldn't" treat people like that and when you do, this it what happens.
If you simply looked them in the face and said "I'd love to help you but I just don't have it right now." That would have said a hell of a lot more about you than what you portrayed.
Or as I stated a simple buck and a smile would have done much more.

How is it disrepectful if he told them no to their face on the way in. Fact is it's his money. He shouldn't be pressured into giving it up. And he was asked to donate. That is a term used for organized charities. Not people begging on the street.

there are more people than there are jobs.
just some reality.
maybe - this should be fun - noone is allowed to work their job for more than one month. then you MUST change jobs. this should give everyone a fair shake, eh?
but - its much more fun to exclude. it much easier for a weak personality to prop itself up on the "lessor" people. because while we may be all created equal, that disappears the minute you start breathing.
