It keeps being said that this is a Camaro/Firebird steering wheel. What makes it a Camaro/Firebird wheel? I've been driving Fieros for 15 years and it looks like a Fiero steering wheel to me. Yeah, it has black stitching and it has finger grips. That means it is not OEM, but the seller never said it was. The grips do not prove that it is not a Fiero wheel. They do prove that it is not OEM... but again, he never said it was.
Someone suggested that the seller should have said 'fits a Fiero' instead of 'for a Fiero GT'. I submit that this person should go look at the Fiero Store ad:
LIGHT SADDLE GT STEERING WHEEL Replace your worn GT steering wheel or upgrade to GT style with a quality aftermarket reproduction. Manufactured after the original GT steering wheel, this completely new steering wheel will bolt directly to the factory hub of any GT or SE Fiero with the factory three spoke wheel and will match your original interior color. No adaptor kit necessary!
The Fiero store says it is a GT steering wheel. Not just that it will fit a Fiero. That is good enough for me. As has been stated several times, the buyer wanted a show quality OEM wheel. First off, not very likely to get that for $100. Questions should have been asked. From my experience, the seller's ad is accurate. So, he didn't list that it was a Fiero store wheel. Big deal. He said it was for a Fiero GT, not FROM a Fiero GT. There are a lot of people selling generic stuff on eBay that say it is FOR A FIERO GT. I think we are all smart enough to know that they are not FROM A FIERO GT. If we doubt, we ask... Period. It seems that next some people will want the seller to tell what he paid for an item so you'll make sure you don't get ripped off by paying more than the seller did.[This message has been edited by Songman (edited 07-22-2007).]

Your doing allot of assuming and told me I was not allowed to do this which comfuses me. Also the Fiero store ad was not listed in the Ebay auction so all of that is Null & Void.
Please answer me why you can assume all kinds of stuff but I was not allowed??

Edit: I was just reminded that it's easy to forget that we're lucky to have this place and the people who share of themselves here. We may disagree about many different things and how we view what's important to us, but I can honestly say that all that goes out the window when I consider that if ANYONE here was in trouble I wouldn't give a moments hesitation to do what I could to help in any way possible. Sorry for forgetting that. [This message has been edited by F-I-E-R-O (edited 07-23-2007).]

The ad says 'steering wheel for a Fiero GT', you paid for a 'steering wheel for a Fiero GT' and you got a 'steering wheel for a Fiero GT'. What's the problem? You got what you paid for, nothing more and certainly nothing less.

Edited after talking with F-I-E-R-O .
I think it is best as mentioned before to drop the rethread until Pay Pal makes there decision. I asked this awhile back and only and mean "Only" answered to other post as I felt needed. I didn't drag it out. If I answer how I feel to another's comments it is warranted. It has been pretty civil except for a few post and I thank those folks for that. Yah you manned up and made it right but your selling ethics are pretty poor to even think of commenting like you did to me.

First point, let’s get something straight, I love your car and respect the way that you’re trying to restore it.
Perhaps when the seller was writing the advertisement, he had no idea that somebody out there would bid and be as critical of the quality and nature of the item as you are. That’s too bad. We have a black Fierostore wheel on one of our cars and although it is slightly smaller in diameter and has the finger bumps, it fits well and is a quality item. Pretty good at the price and we, as well as many others are very satisfied with this product.
Let the buyer beware is the old saying…
As you know, new old stock leather steering wheels are hardly ever found on e-bay. I sniped a gray leather formula wheel last year at the last minute for $110. It still had the factory wrapper around it and was advertised as NOS because the seller knew that he had something very rare. I watched it for days and felt like I stole it at that price. I would be surprised to find an OEM GT wheel in that condition with a buy it now price anywhere near that.
Oh yes, you can change the color of the stitching but you need to use the right products.
Lastly, I understand that Andrew’s remarks were a bit cutting but after all, you did ask for opinions and that’s what you got. Here’s mine, your reply was out of line.
You could have listed it back for sale and had it sold by now. If it were black, I would start the bidding right now at $50.
In the long run, the cost of the hard feelings is higher that the loss (if any) on the wheel. It’s just not worth the grief.
Peace-out,
Gordo

You made allot of sense so dont think I am upset with you or anyone for that matter. But Gordo how would you feel if that Black wheel came to you with White thread, or Orange?
The sad part is I am telling how I feel and my red bar is climbing higher. Shame on that. RIck

Thanks for the kind reply...
Actually, I purchased a white leather shift knob from the Fierostore for my 87 GT because I knew that I could re-color it black (which I did). It is not exactly like the OEM because it has four stitched seams instead of three but at $19 compared with $70 for OEM, it suits me just fine.

Would I have been disappointed if I were in your shoes? Probably. You have a right to build your car any way you want and be as critical of the parts that you acquire as you can be. I would have felt a little bad paying that much for a used Fierostore steering wheel too, but usually the buy it now prices are a bit on the high side. I don’t think that you were intentionally deceived and I would like to think that I wouldn’t have started a thread titled “E-bay scammer? You be the Judge”.
Life it too short to wind yourself up in all this grief. The Fierostore has probably sold a bunch just like it and I am sure that somebody out there would be really pleased to get yours. Put it up for sale & see what happens…

I will throw a positve vibe your way. I too think it is a shame that you got negs over something like this. Perhaps it is because of the tone of the title, or the persistence of being scammed after the seller said he'd compromise?

Cliff I think this thread has gone on long enough. How about sending it to the round file? We have all seen enough of this saga. [This message has been edited by Mike Murphy (edited 07-22-2007).]
