I havent read this whole post, but my FAVORITE comment so far was:

Then at some point, it became acceptable for them to use the handicap scooters, so now they dont even have to get off thier fat asses to load up thier carts with every manner of fattening snack imaginable. "

Now i 100% agree with that, being overweight is a CHOICE, not a handicap. I was a rather LARGE young man for a few years and got sick of it so, i lost weight. Nearly 100LBS to be more specific. If people CHOSE to be "fat" fine, that is there choice but we shouldnt give them any special privelages! Should we give gay people a parking spot because theit asses hurt so they dont wanna sit any more than they have to... NO! So why give overweight people the "handicap" spots? If they want special parkingd spots then give them to 'em. They should be the FURTHEST spots from the store so they get a little excercise. Now i may seem like i am being a complete dick, but i am entitled to IMO. After being fat through 4th and 5th grade, middle school and most of high school. A handicap is something you dont have control over. Why do people feel bad for overweight people like it isnt their fault?

I will admit i dont eat very healthy BUT i make up for it by working my ass off! i LOVE pizza, Mcdonalds, Wendys etc. I probably eat fast food 2-3 times a week, but i am somwhat careful about what i eat. Usualy chicken nuggets from wendys, but once a week or so i get a couple double cheeseburgers and a shake from McDonlads. However i do that knowing that i am going to have to work out ten times as much as if i would have eaten a salad with some turkey and French dressing. I still consider myself "fat" but know it is my choice so...

Well yeah but.... uhhhhh.. the "point" is picking the lesser of two evils right? Isnt what what EVERYONE professes as "the only way?"

I mean dirt has very little nutritional value so that makes it better than a double cheese burgar?

No sh*t. I was just pointing out that even what would be considered the "lesser" of the two evils is still pretty evil.

Kind of like getting to choose between Hillary and Dan Quayle for President. Either way, it's not healthy.

After sitting in a chair for the last 8 years I went from 5'6" and 145-155lbs to 175-185lbs last year. When I was young I could eat anything I wanted and stay in shape, because A. I was young, and young people have higher metabolisms, and B. I was more active.

Up to about 5 months ago my lifestyle consisted of eating anything you want but workout as much as reasonably possible, which was usually 1/2 hr of push ups, sit ups, jumping jacks, etc. usually 3-4 days a week, and always take the stairs. Plus always help out with things like yard work and home repairs etc.

Now I rarely ever drink soda, I substituted it with seltzer and ice water, I almost never eat fastfood except for subway, I eat salad with lite dressing like fat free italian at least 3 times a week, I try to cut out all desserts except on special occasions or that odd cookie, I use less sugar in my coffee, and I RUN up the stairs every single time I get a chance. Now I weigh 155lbs. It was as simple as that. For the most part I think sugar and not eating enough salad and fruit was my problem. I'm not on a diet, I just choose not to eat crap.

ok so this post has alot of anger and people slashing at each other. but i do feel bad for the few large people who have a medical history or soem legitament excuse but the other 99% of large people like to eat all the time and sit around all the time. society has become very un-active. now granted i am 5'8" and weigh 155~ i cannot say i am anything but cut. i work out four times a week with no cardio. but it keeps the small layer of fat off my abbs so i can have a tone little six-pack. now i know some people have a family history of being over weight.... but dont some people have a family history of alcholism and still manage to be normal non- drinkers? YES THEY DO! people these days do not have enough will or want to do the things that will give them the body they want. if you have a family history of being over weigh well jog one extra lap each day and eat one less cheese-burger. i am only 19 and have noticed just from stopping eating greasy fast food everyday for lunch that i feel better everyday i have more motivation and more drive to get out and do something because all that nasty is not holding me back. i went from eating fast food every meal to buying all food that i have to prepare for myself for lunch. and in no way do i hate over weight people but i also have no tolerance for them. do not complain and use your weight as a crutch. youre brain is the weak one and it is you to blame, not your parents or the world.

I find it funny that this has gone from a couple of people giving me crap about the name of this thread and my attitude toward fat people.

To blaming fat on fast food.

Fast food is not a problem, peoples physical activities.

When I was working construction as a welder/ironworker away from home. All I ever ate was fast food. But never gained an once, because of all of the physical work I did.

When I was away from home for weeks at a time and staying in motels it was hard to do anything else, yet because of the physical type of job I had I worked off all of that fast food.

Most people don’t have jobs like this anymore. If you do you are in the minority now days. You don’t need to eat like that, so why are you?

PS

To all those who said I have no compassion for fat people. My first 2 wives were over weight when I met and married them. The divorces were for reasons not related to their weight.
