and Steve? (Fiero5, I think)... what I meant is that the odds of all those judges knowing any owner over any other owner is the same as me knowing Adam. Think about it, that kind of thing is usually 1 or 2 from each side agreeing to something, not the entire membership of the local car club meeting the entire membership of the other car club. If it's like CFOG its not even in person... just e-mail.

So what if they saw a MFC sticker or name badge or if the owner of the car played "Let-Me-Tell-You-Who-I-Am"... I again say, that before (and during) the show, those judges could not say - or even cared - who owned what or who was a member, much less a director of any Fiero organiztion.

I was commenting on your original statement that you had said that you bet the judges wouldn't know who was who.
I don't agree due to the following: The show cards on the windshield stating the cars owner etc, the actual owner driving the Fiero up, many of the owners chatting with the judges, many of the owners having name tags (didn't think of that one at first), and others I mentioned earlier etc, etc, it would actually be pretty hard for some of the judges to NOT know who some of the owners Fieros were.
knowhatimean?

Now, like I said before whether that caused a problem or was a conflict is another matter, and I can't comment on that possibility (if any) as I do not have any idea. I certainly didn't get that impression when I was there, and I didn't hear anything or get that impression from anyone else while I was there. It wasn't until I came home and a few days later this whole controversy thing popped up here on Pennocks.

You're not getting attacked because you asked a legitimate question. You're getting attacked because you insist on continuing to flog a quite dead horse.

NO CONFLICT OF INTEREST except to the paranoid schizoid conspiracy members of the forum.

Bob's car with more than a quarter of a million miles on the odometer deserves a trophy. But maybe he slipped the judge $50 for a $5 trophy.

The thing is Steve, with the exception of one or two people, name tags etc. didn't tell the judges anything because they don't know anyone in the Fiero community.

As far as Bob's car, that car is nice and wins wherever it goes. I don't think it was a conflict of interest at all. Heck if those involved in organizing the show weren't supposed to show, we would had 50 less entries/cars there.

Yeah who would go for all the trouble for a five dollar trophy. Maybe I am wrong but that just makes since to me.

Oh let it go already. Who gives a sh!t?

By all accounts it was a great show. You all got to see the 90 that until a couple months ago we all thought no longer existed.

I take my car to shows and only enter as display only, even though I am certain it would place at some level if it were judged.

I give a rat's a$$ about a cheap trophy. I build my car for me. I'm the guy laying under it every weekend getting greasy, crap in my eyes, and losing more than a little blood. If you like what I've done to it and want to compliment it, I love to hear it, but that's just icing on the cake. If I'm pleased with it and proud of it, for me that is all that counts.

Shows are about people with the same interest getting together and looking at what each other has done and looking for new ideas to apply to your own project. It's not about winning a trophy or poor judging.

Judge your own car and your own work. If you're happy, you win.
