If I'm correct, isn't this only the second event that CFOG-i has been involved in? The first being the very successful and universally enjoyed Red River Ruckus? The difference? Well, firstly the majority of participants were from the south, where they tend to value manners. (Please don't judge the south by my behavior, I'm a Californian.) The other big difference is that there was NO JUDGING! Maybe that's a crackerjack idea. As far as "liability" goes, this is exactly a good reason why I abdicated myself from CFOG director position. No good deed goes unpunished. Chuck and the rest of CFOG-i started with pure intent, and not a soul in the orginazation stands to profit from their participation. I'm not familiar with the bruhaha surrounding this event, but God help us if all of those people in CFOG get as fed up with this threatened litigation nonsense and walk away. Then who ya gonna call?

Well said, stimpy! I'm a Southerner who just happens to live in California. Lack of manners is a very big pet peeve for me, and it is rampant here! (By HERE, I mean the forum sometimes and this thread in particular.) I also gave up being a Director of CFOG for the same reasons. Aside from all of that, all of these proposed lawsuits are getting out of hand. [This message has been edited by Songman (edited 07-22-2003).]

You really show your mentality and it is not likely that too many people will be on your side. I agree that judges should walk the field and look at cars. But I also think that any car that is entered in a show should at least run! I just hate to see something that could have been as historic as this show marred by your attitude... and that is all the good you are doing. Sure, be unhappy. Even ***** a little about it.. But all this lawsuit crap is stupid. Did you at least get a dash plaque or do we have to look forward to that lawsuit threat again? I thought about coming to this show. I just couldn't justify putting that kind of miles on my car... This thread makes me glad I didn't waste my time coming out there... As for your low-brow name calling, just remember my name and do it to my face sometime when I show up at another east coast show... this is your official invitation. Your barking up the wrong tree..........I dont know anything about lawsuits or lawyers or dashplaques or any of that ( I think your trying to respond to Yello86se - Ron ) I never said anything about a lawyer or the such it is soooooo not worth it.
Once again my point is to get SOMEONE in particular to admit they screwed up ( who wont do it ) P.S. you're officially invited to come here too

Songman From what I have learned and understand it is not CFOGI that is the issue, it's an individual or so involved that was a little on the abrasive side of being cooperative and another one who has diareha of the mouth, and that the main source of the problem is with MFC

I would also like to see my judging sheet, I never heard anyone tell about the judging sheets being available. When I was called over the loud speaker to bring my window card back to the judging table????????????????????? “I wonder why”. I asked could we get our judging sheets back at the end of the show so we could see our weak points and work on them before the next show and was told no. In the brochure it states; Saturday, July 19: 7 to 4 – Car show with special guest, DJ & door prizes 10 to 1 – Audio competition 10 to 1 Exhaust competition I have been to many CAR SHOWS in my life and “7 to 4 – Car show” means your car is ready to compete for judging and public to view. That means from 7:00am to 4:00pm you are SHOWING your car, not to be confused with CLEANING your car. I HAVE TO ASK, HONESTLY: Have you EVER been to a car show where people were just cleaning their cars and have the car torn down for cleaning during the complete show and then be judged at the end of the show? I cleaned my car on Friday and woke up early to wipe it clean at 6:10am before the show. I was told you could have your car judged at any time you like. One car that competed against me John Stricker is on the Personnel and is director of “Kit Car/Rebody for CFOGi”. I asked him on Friday why was he working on his tow car and not his show car. I can’t remember what he said but he didn’t tell me because he had all the time he needed to do that the day of the show. If John is representing CFOGi in the Kit Car/Rebody it would be nice to be told the ins and out’s of how the judging of Kit Car/Rebody would be done. I thought his position in CFOGi was to HELP members not to compete with knowledge learned from CFOGi against them. I have never been to a show that you remove your car from your show spot to drive somewhere else to be judged. I have had to drive my car through a check point where they would make sure it would run, turn, stop etc. (Detroit Autorama) then you proceed to your spot and clean your car. At the start of the show you stop cleaning your car and can be judged at any time from the start of the show to the end and you are not told when you are judged, just any time between the start and end of the show. You cannot cover your car at night or you will be disqualified. Now that I have VENTED my frustrations I have to say I have never seen such a wide variety of Fiero’s in my life. Everything that could be done to a Fiero was at the show all the way from a 1984 with 15 miles on it to a front engine drag car and everything in-between. Not to mention GM’s help in showing the prototype cars. The friendliest group of owners that is always ready to tell a story about their car and give you hints on how to make it go faster and ways to clean better.
Will I go to another CFOGi event? YES! We all live and learn as we go through life nobody is perfect. If CFOGi does not hear any complaints then they will not be apt to change for the better. Maybe Chris Moore could give some advice on judging (no that is not a slam, I mean it). And no I don’t want anything changed from the judging at the show, it is all water over the dam, who cars? I had one Hell of a good time and am glad I went.

Purple Reign and yello86se... I have already corresponded with yello privately and will post this to both of you publicly... as I told Ron in private communication, I do realize it was him who sued FOCOA - and whether that was right or wrong, I just don't want the entire Fiero community to become afraid to do anything because they might get sued. I don't want to see precedent set... I am not disagreeing with you about the poor judging. I have never been to a car show where the judges sat under a tent and had the cars drive by. That is ridiculous. My comments were made about the usage of certain words when this thread started that 'IMPLIED' an impending lawsuit. If you think they aren't there, go back and read the thread. I hate to see the memory of the 20th scarred by this. Yello and I have had dealings in the past and he knows I have no problem with him. Purple Reign, I have no problem with you other than how you have chosen to talk to people who disagree with you in this thread. The sad fact is that people who disagree with you are not necessarilly dumbasses, narrow minded, big pricks, or any of the other long list of names that you used that have nothing to do with the subject at hand. I also think some other people on the other side went overboard in their language. I am not just picking on you two. If either of the two of you still have problems with my words, feel free to PM me and we can clarify further. No need to continue ruining a good event with this thread in my opinion.
