That was civil. You attempt at excusing his hypocrisy was pathetic. If you can't handle having your posts described using the appropriate words that's just to bad. i'm not happy with the direction the forum has taken either. i'm not going to waste my time going through the archives counting insults by username or looking for the first occurrence of the words "you're an idiot". but i have had 2 ideas, one for the forum, and one personal:
the forum
cliff doesnt want to make forum moderation a chore, or delegate authority to moderate, which is fine. cliff is very tolerant. perhaps a little too tolerant. he doesnt want (and i dont blame him) to patrol the forum looking for racism or sexism or all the other isms, and have to make judgement calls on all the innuendo and veiled insults. but cliff has chosen to delegate a portion of the authority to the users at large, via the rating system. but like cliff, the rating system may be too tolerant too. i believe the rating system currently bans at 4/5ths negs. i think cliff should adjust the threshold to 2/3rds. consider it, cliff, look at the folks with 2/3rds red, and ask yourself if they are really worth the effort.

i love the forum. i admit it, my name is lurker and i'm addicted. i can stay off the forum for a couple of days and i can keep from posting for a day or so, but eventually i lose control and respond to some inane remark (usually with another inane remark). i dont know how i'd get through the day without my maryjane or rumor or blackrams fix, and ive come to look forward to the sturm und drang that threads like this provide. maybe it's the adrenaline, maybe it's the intellectual stimulation, maybe it's the sense that i'm not doing so badly compared to some of the puffed-up exaggerated egos here, but i cant tear myself away.
so i've thought of a way you can all help me, at least help me not post.
i've been thinking of starting a "ban me" thread. just politely ask everyone to neg me, especially those of you who think well of me and think i've contributed. i'm sure that those of you who want me to go away will oblige, and many who like my contributions will help. cliff could even ban me on principle for rules violations, since "rate me" threads are clearly against the rules. if that fails i can escalate to thinly veiled insults, open insults, stalking people around the forum stirring feces, look for rules to break, all the time-tested methods. if necessary i could consult with some of the real experts, who may have been banned before.
so what do you think?

damn....I missed all the fun......
it alot easier when you realize that most the folk here do not even exist. as far as I know - the actual human population of this forum is under 20. those I have met at the 20th & 25th, and a few other events. everyone else - sorry - you are make believe. even had someone try to argue they were for real, and not imaginary. just picture the fun.
