I humbly apologize to all the forum members here for what I have posted. It was wrong. I also acknowledge that my father told me to not show my ignorance by posting swear words or trash in the forum. Because of that, my father is now going to revoke my posting privileges for a time. This is being edited by my father right now. [This message has been edited by 1985FieroGT (edited 07-22-2003).]

I'm not sure what you ment but I drove my car 1200 miles to the show. Washed and cleaned it on Friday. Drove it it 1200 miles home. I've driven it to work almost everyday that I've owned it for the last three years. The car has over 150,000 miles on it. The only time it's not on the road is when I'm working on it. I do all my own work. I did all my own interior work except make the Mr Mike seat covers. That includes installing the Firebird dash, console, armrests, the door panel uphostery and custom fiberglass work. I also did all the new paint work to the trim, ground effects (which I removed from the car), wheels as well as new paint on the hood and nose. I also did the red pinstrip. Before the trip I replaced the lower engine coolant hose, dropped the tank to fix the baffle and replace the fuel sock. I also replaced the fuel filter. I added new poly sway bar bushings, checked the brakes, hoses and belts. Does that answer your question? Roy

As Performance Director of CFOGi, I will try to get a couple things straight - at least for the Class "X" guys, and also about the two performance events. First, CFOGi had nothing - - I repeat NOTHING to do with the show - - with the exception of the "X" class. If there are any complaints about the Thursday or Friday stuff please forward them to me privately (other than the locations, which quite frankly were out of our control ). Your comments will help me to decide whether to organize more performance events next year (or not). The "X" class was originally to be judged by Joe Huffaker. There NEVER has been a class for competition only cars before in a Fiero show, to the best of my knowledge. Only another racer is truly qualified to judge these cars. I doubt there was a "pro" judge at that show that knew what the different venues these guys play in are all about - - Pro-Street, Pro Rally, IMSA, ITA, Solo I and Solo II, etc. Thus, how could they judge the cars - - by looks? That was the whole point, a dent or a scar shouldn't discount points in an "X" class. What should be judged here is the engineering, the amount of build quality, etc. Another thought is that a racing engine is built differently from a street engine. For example, even if Paul's fuel pressure was good, I doubt he could have started it, and either idled the entire time it took to get through the judging lanes, or start/ stop/ start/ stop the engine to get there. A true competition engine is a quirky thing, built to run, not idle. Gerald's racing cosworth in the 8Shark machine was a perfect example. It was decided before hand that the "X" cars would be provided their own area, and that they would be judged separately from the show cars. It was also decided that they would not be driven through the lanes. Once again, Joe Huffaker was to be the judge for this part of it. But when that didn't work out, other arrangements were made. There was a winnners list provided to Chuck Hodges, and he called me up to the head table at the banquet. The trophies for that class awarded by the "judges" were given to the only two cars to drive through the lanes, and one of them was 2nd in our other judging anyway. I made the call to give the trophies to those shown by the judges, the racers told me they weren't really there for those kinds of trophies, anyway. They were there to share our cars with the rest of the Fiero community, to show what it is we do, and demo how we have our cars set up to do it. We were supposed to showcase our cars at Waterford and Milan, except the drag cars didn't get to Milan - -. Just to put this to rest, there are separate awards (not trophies, but probably better accepted) going to everybody in the "X" class. I am waiting to get the complete registration list to ensure I have everybody, John Kinsler did not have his car with the rest of the "X" class all weekend, for example. There may be others. Once I get a complete list, I will make the awards in the order the "unofficial" vote went, and the "awards" for the real "X" class will be sent via Fed Ex. ------------------ George Ryan Performance Director CFOG-I

Guys & Gals ~ Just a thought here. Step back a minute and look at things from this perspective. This was the first time CFOG really ran a big show. Mistakes were made. Some little, some much bigger. Everyone is still catching their breath, some of us aren't even home yet. Things that went wrong were realized, and the opinion of one CFOG official that you might not agree with may be different from the majority opinion of the whole organization. Give us a few days to regroup and figure out where to go. Making a scene isn't going to help things for the future, it is only going to sour some of the people involved towards you as an individual, and towards volunteering as well. The purpose of complaining should be to be constructive and help things improve for the future, so that the next show can be better. No way of judging is foolproof. If your car wins, you usually don't see the flaws until your car loses. If your car loses you are more likely to look and see what went wrong. I've heard complaints about all kinds of judging, and trust me there is no pleasing everyone. I understand some people feel they were, and may have been, treated unfairly. Give those of us involved a few days to figure out what went on and rectify them. Let's be adult about this. Thanks. Jennifer

I'll tell you one thing... You would have a lot more credibility if in every post you made you didn't have to call people names. You really show your mentality and it is not likely that too many people will be on your side. I agree that judges should walk the field and look at cars. But I also think that any car that is entered in a show should at least run! I just hate to see something that could have been as historic as this show marred by your attitude... and that is all the good you are doing. Sure, be unhappy. Even ***** a little about it.. But all this lawsuit crap is stupid. Did you at least get a dash plaque or do we have to look forward to that lawsuit threat again? I thought about coming to this show. I just couldn't justify putting that kind of miles on my car... This thread makes me glad I didn't waste my time coming out there... As for your low-brow name calling, just remember my name and do it to my face sometime when I show up at another east coast show... this is your official invitation.
