I prefer to stop and look people in the EYES and say "no, sorry but I don't have it." the first time.
If I need to say it twice, I'll say it twice just to give the benefit of the doubt to them and make it perfectly clear.

This is just my opinion / advice. Take it or leave it but I've never been threatened the way buddy was.

What if someone follows along behind you asking for money. Do you continually stop, turn, and say no each time they ask? Where's the line? How clearly do you have to say No before you stop responding altogether?

it was annoying for them to ask a second time. especially the way she said it.
perhaps if she would had said it differently i would have turned around

I don't feel that I should have to say "NO" to someone more than once. If I say "NO", and the person keeps badgering me, I consider it an insult, and will respond accordingly.

Hey Bill, since when did you become a "manners Nazi"?

If thats the case buddy you should have called the police and reported this because what she said was a threat of bodily harm which requires respect in and of itself. Keeping your back turned and saying "no" is showing weakness on your part.

Again this is my opinion. Having lived in the hood I know better. But thats just my personal experiences. Again, I have never been threatened like that but then again I don't take offense by having to repeat myself to an obvious moron.

Had I done that and she still said "see that's why black people rob a mothereffer" my reply would have been baby, you got me effed up with someone else. then I would be stepping backwards still facing them before I turned my back.

Since when does offering up an opinion on how I FEEL is best to treat other mean that I am a nazi?

I never said he "couldn't" or "wasn't allowed."
I never said "don't do it."

I said I felt it could have been handled better.

Bill you are pertectly entitled to your opinion. when I tell someone "no" that's it. they aren't my kids, its not a negotiation.

example: i have a sign on my door that reads "No solicitation" and a sign on my door bell that reads "day sleeper, do not ring door bell". about once every 4-6 weeks in the summer months some twit rings my door bell. i stumble out of bed, "hello?"
usually some teenage girl starts in with how she's trying to work through college selling magazines, blah, blah. i listen to the story and say "no thanks, i'm not interested". the response that i ALWAYS get "oh, are you sure? i really need to sell blah, blah.."
respond "NO" and shut the door on them.
