I don't have to have a right to judge. He gave his own confession! He admittedly took parts from a junk yard without paying for them and in fact is bragging about doing it. By "law" he can be charged with "THEFT" and he even gave his own confession of guilt. That in fact makes him a thief.
I don't have to condemn him, he condemned himself by making the post in the first place.
If it looks like a duck and acts like a duck it must be a duck.[This message has been edited by JimmyS (edited 09-19-2008).]

And you went down to the lake, caught the duck, showed everyone that you had a duck, and now wouldn't have a second thought about killing and cooking the duck. After all everyone likes to eat ducks. You should become a cop. Would you like it if people were out to get you?
It's not about what he did, it's about what you did by trying to roast him in public. Dick move.[This message has been edited by Emc209i (edited 09-19-2008).]

I was at my local pull yard a few months ago and i came across a very clean 87 se waiting its turn for the crusher. This car honestly had no damage it just wouldn't pass smog and the owner junked it it had many new sensors and the body was in great shape. I walked into the managers office and asked if i could purchase the car as a whole and he said that in california junkyards can only sell cars within ten days of recieving them. I was kinda bummed i asked if i could still get some parts off of it and the manager said that whatever i could grab before the forklift came to get it i could have free. I pulled the rear spoiler all of the sensors switches both sail panels and qiute a few other parts including a full set of kyb gas adjust shocks that were in the trunk they were brand new! I also pulled all of the parts needed to swap the headlight motors onto my 85. I had to break the trunk to get it open so thats why nobody got to this stockpile. In all the parts were worth more than i paid for my car. and now it runs very well. and handles better too. So while i didn't steal any of the parts i still felt as if i was there on a shopping spree it. Sadly the rest of the car was destroyed before my eyes. I now have the badge from the front bumper as the background on my phone. I just wanted to change the tone on this one.
You say that I am a sinner, You say I am bound for hell, So when your judgment condemns you, I guess I will see you there.

I steal everything I can from a junkyard because it WAS someones property. I would never steal from a person directly...( rob a house for example ). They acquire these cars for almost nothing and sometimes for nothing at all. I feel no shame in pocketing anything that will fit in my pockets since they only check your toolbox on the way out....and very little can fit in my pockets so that can give you an idea of how much I take. Better me than the next guy [This message has been edited by IMSA GT (edited 09-19-2008).]

I actually saw the spec sheet at my local junkyard. I was looking over the staging section cars, and the manager accidentally printed the purchasing prices without realizing it. It looked like this:
# Vin.____Cond._________Year__Price 1. -------- ---- ---- ----- 1987 $0.00 2. -------- ---- ---- ----- 1994 $0.00 3. -------- ---- ---- ----- 1997 $20.00 4. -------- ---- ---- ----- 1975 $0.00 5. -------- ---- ---- ----- 1995 $0.00 6. -------- ---- ---- ----- 1983 $0.00 7. -------- ---- ---- ----- 1985 $100.00 8. -------- ---- ---- ----- 1979 $0.00 9. -------- ---- ---- ----- 1999 $40.00 That pattern repeated on into the hundreds. They could care less about crushing the entire car without even staging it, more money for scrap.

I can't believe the original poster of this thread left the user name in the quote. Very uncool.

Why shouldn't I leave the username in? He posted it himself and obviously isn't ashamed of his actions so why should I delete the name? All I did is quote him with his own words.
It's not like he called me and told me all this on the phone and then I came here and posted it. He made the post himself in "THIS" forum and I simply started and new thread to discuss the post he himself made.
Geeze people, hate the guy who did the crime not the guy who wanted to see what everyone else thought of "his" actions.[This message has been edited by JimmyS (edited 09-19-2008).]

It is theft, but I would be a hypocrite if I didn't admit to doing it too. I bet almost anyone who has been to a junk yard has taken something they didn't pay for at one time or another. The last time I was in a junk yard was decades ago.

Nobody is perfect and i'm willing to bet that 90% of the people here have taken something, at some point in their life, that didn't belong to them. But when you get on an open forum and brag about it, you better be able to deal with people calling you a thief.
