I sent Tom a message on facebook asking that he stop the slander. I got a message back thanking me for my concern and a goodbye. Nice. Nothing is left to reconcile. He's just not hearing anything. I give up. I hope he soon grows up and understands that we would have helped him.

I have a question, and I mean no disrespect to anybody and don't want to get caught up in this, but I have read all the pages and keep questioning myself as why it is being overlooked.

You say he paid $1700 for only a long block? that is fair, but is it not the exact same engine you were selling here for $1700:

If not I am completely off base and please ignore me, I didn't read every single post.

Also I am not saying that he is right in any way for what he did, but I just feel if I bought the engine from your add and got it in the mail as a long block I would be kinda upset.

Chris, no disrespect taken. I DID sell an engine that was a complete drop-in swap, that's the engine that is still in my car right now and the buyer will get it mounted on a cradle exactly as it comes out of the car.

The engine Tom bought was a longlock I sold him after he contacted me via a Craigslist posting. Completely different engine.

Having spent all of my adult life in law enforcement or other public service I have to say "Please don't call the police for stuff like this." If this young man showed up on your porch or started calling your phone at 1 in the morning making articulated threats I could understand. I have read all these posts and if you (either side) had called me or one of my officers with this issue we would have allowed you to vent on the recorded line and then advised you to seek the advice of private council (and pay for the privledge to vent to them). I understand the emotional aspect of this from both sides but unless one of you has a lot more stuff that your not sharing, this should be over. I enjoy a good pissing match as much as the next person but for goodness sake let it go. As far as I can tell the engine sold was what it was and any "experts" called would give a wide range of testimony as to whether or not this was a good or bad deal but the buyer would have to PROVE fraud (my professional opinion says "hahahah" no fraud). As far as slander goes....someone already covered that in a previous post. No slander, libel......and only libel if you can show it was believed and then you have to prove some kind of monetary loss to recover financially......unless you want to spend a lot of money, clog up the courts just to get what????? A "i'm sorry"? This is a learning experience for all involved (some way more then others).
And just for the record.....i received two speeding tickets in my career, never showed a badge when i was stopped (not that it would have mattered in Wisconsin), and paid them both as I was guilty. Enough said.
