Saying kit cars are going to end is like saying fake breasts will no longer be needed. 
As long as theres people who will take chances there's going to be kit cars. Maybe Fiero based kits are going on the decline but there's going to be replica's and kit's regardless.

I thought that there was a McLaren F1 replica for the Fiero too but could not find it but if you wanted to build one from the ground up it has three seats too they do have one for the mr2 though.
