Americans- a short film starring Kid Rock and Sean Penn (Page 3/10)
Boondawg OCT 13, 09:27 PM
I'm going to watch the video in a few minutes.

Sean Penn & Kid Rock.
I like the Kid's music and attitude.
And Penn?

Sean Penn does a lot of good charity work.
One of a few celebrities who puts more then his money where his mouth is.
Muscle.
He gets in there and gets his hands dirty.
Works & lives right there with those he's helping.

He's doing more good with his life then I am.

The fact that you derailed the thread and added absolutely nothing of value? I bet you feel really special.

Yes, I watched it in its entire futility.
"Nothing to see here, move along, move along."
No artistic value. No political value. Childish. Immature. What was the point? (Oh, I'm sorry, other than the oh so much obvious "point" that could have been communicated in 3.75 seconds, rather than 9+ minutes)("Hi, we're not very bright.")

I want that 9 point whatever minutes of my life back.

I watched the video and I thought to myself, that is how it should be. having different opinions about what is the right direction for the country is exactly what this country is all about. Nowhere else ( or at least in very few places) can you see a party with a significantly different viewpoint take control of the highest office in the country without significant bloodshed or outright anarchy. The one thing that makes this country great is the fact that we have this change in leadership every four to eight years with no bloodshed and with pomp and circumstance. You haver every right to disagree with a person with opposing views but to disrespect that person is crossing the line. To anyone who is so shallow to say the video sucks because its Kid Rocl or Sean Penn has missed the point completely. It is not about who is in the video//it is about the underlying premise. It is okay to disagree it is okay to have widely disperet opinions as long as we respect the others right to have that opinion. The past few years have been as devisive politically as any I can remember, and the rhetoric is over the top, but any student of American history can tell you it has not been nearly as devisive as some of the past years have been, especially around Lincoln's time and just prior. The tkeaway of the video is that we are all americans and we all want what is best for our country, even though we may disagree as to what that is. One of my best friends is a hardcore a liberal as you can find and I am a very conservative person. We respectfully agree to disagree on what we feel is best for the country. I will never change his mind, he will never change mine, but that is okay and we are still cool with each other, because we both know that deep down we each believe what we believe is the right answer and we each believe that the other person does care about the country and wants to see it prosper. Maybe....just maybe, if we set aside the rhetoric and listen to the other side, we may not agree ultimately, but we may understand and we can continue this great republic and preserve it the for all those people out there, and we may pearn something in the process.

Of course that may just be the Sailor Jerry's talking. Stimp....err....White Devil...I liked the video and I personally wish that more people would follow the example of the video and realise that just because someone doesn't agree with your point of view it doesn't make them evil or bad...it is actually what nakes this country so great....

I will apologize in advance for the errors, but it is 1:30 am...I have has a few and there is a really effed up movie on Scyfy right now distracting me.....

It didn't cost you anything but the 10 minutes you volunteered, plus however long it took to make your snarky comment. So pound sand, I'm not giving you anything.

No it was the morons in the video that added nothing of value to the world, and you can see from others posts above they agree. Next time try finding a video of value, from people that are worth watching. Bet you get a lot more 'value' in your responses and less chance of a derail.

Oh, but it does. And if you lower your standards/values just to get along or even be friends, then you are just as bad and are not worthy in the first place. One's core values are not like socks, to be changed on a whim.
