All you needed to do was just reiterate.. Stop.. look them in the face and just say, "No, I don't have it"
You don't need to say sorry, you dont need to go on a long song and dance.
A simple smile and a " hey, I dont have it" would have in all likely hood avoided this whole nasty situation.
It's that simple dude...

i was looking them in the face the first time i said NO
and i shouldn't have to tell them i dont have it.

"Yo. You cant make a donation?"
she knew i said no the first time and wanted to intimate me or make me feel guilt.

You did nothing wrong. Telling them no once should have been enough, and the woman starts off with "Yo. You cant make a donation?" she wasn't exactly being polite, either.
When they made their threat ... and that's exactly what it was ... I believe I would have escalated the situation. That was uncalled for.
