Archie, have you personally done the work in all of those pictures? any action shots?

Why don't y'all just whip out your penises and measure them? Oh, that's right... you'd be arguing about where to measure from, inches or centimeters, hard or soft, whether girth factors in, if points are subtracted for aiming to the side, if extra hair gives you bonus points, whether or not foreskin counts, etc. So much for that idea.
Some of the photos are pretty nice, though. I have to admit that. [This message has been edited by Blacktree (edited 06-12-2007).]

I can say that I do like the looks of all the FI V-8 pictures that Archie posted but there is only one thing wrong with them. What are they attached to that can handle all the HP/torque that they put out. Now that the 6 speed is out, that is an option but it has not been proven yet to handle a V-8. Whats the point of having a high HP motor attached to something that cant handle the power?

I have always wondered the same thing myself about the work that his shop puts out. I am willing to say he hasnt done any of the installs that have left his shop in a long time. But then again I could be wrong.

That aluminum lever looks like.... a paddle shifter? Ever done one of those Arch? |

Oooh, flappy paddles. That's so awesome, and such a great addition to an automatic transmission.

So you want to split hairs on who turns the wrenches in Archie's shop? Let me guess, if anything comes out of his shop, it's fair game to be made fun of because it's an Archie swap - but Archie himself can only brag about the ones he's personally built, because otherwise they aren't Archie swaps. Does that about cover it?
God forbid he should be so successful as to hire employees to expand his business. Ryan was even arguing earlier that he wasn't expanding his business enough.
But hey, as long as you have something to b*tch about, it's all good, right?

I have no idea what the shot size is on the 3.4DOHC and I think the 3800 is a series II. Kris Munson had the 3.4 and Frank Martin had the 3800SC. It should also be noted that I was wrong, the 3800SC hit 147 rwhp not 170 rwhp and that the same car with the same engine was dyno'd a year earlier at a Dyno shop with an average corrected reading of 212hp/270 tq. (see pic) So why the 65hp loss???
The point I was making was the V-8's were not the only engines dyno'd and had low numbers, but yet nobody comments on the poor results of the other engines.[This message has been edited by Oreif (edited 06-12-2007).]

Well, I'm back......Bright eyed & bushie tailed. Ready for another day of building crappy cars.
Let's see what words of wisdom the kids came up with overnight.

Now that a good one. Let's see here, Let me spell it out to you in simple A, B. C's
A) been putting these things into Fieros for 19 years now
B) have sold a total of about 1950 kits & have installed about 400 of those
C) At least 250 of my customers are now members of PFF
D) How many broken transmissions have been documented here on PFF over the years maybe 10? or 15?
E) How many broken transmissions have I heard about (from all sources) over the last 19 years.... maybe 25
D) So for grins & giggles let's double it & call it 50 ........
E) That works out to a failure rate of 2.5%.......
F) That's not too bad for a 20 year old transmission some of which have been hooked up to a SBC for much of that 20 years..... & many of which have 150K+ miles when they're swapped to SBC.
G) I'd venture to guess that a failure rate of only 2.5% would be as good or better than many of these built up automatics you guys are always talkin about.
Now some of you guys keep saying that they can't handle the power, but you don't have any data to support that opinion. You keep wanting Dyno charts & Time Slips maybe you can provide some data to support your claims.
Yeah, I agree overall automatics are faster in the 1/4 mile. But life is not the 1/4 mile & sports cars are supposed to be sticks. Sports cars with automatics are boring to me.
When I built my 1st V-8 Fiero, I wanted Sports Car handling & a Muscle Car power to weight ratio.
So if you have some real data to support your claims, then let's see it. Otherwise put a cork in it.
