10.62 or not, only a dumb**** would post a timeslip that wasn't his, but that goes wihtout being said. Where is the "Master of the Obvious" pic? I AM THE MASTER OF THE OBVIOUS MUAHAHAHAHAH...cough...ha...

I AM A PROFIT...or um somthing similar.Prophet....Behold I warned of threads, about this thread. Behold I have warned of false timeslips. But you have been cast down in to the pit, you will remain in the trash can forever.
Now what was really cool? People getting spanked by Cliff. This threas doesnt rock quite as much, but it still rocks.

No, not you - the other "X" (GT-X). Sorry - should have clarified that.

Nope. Because you can just as easily apply the boost to a larger displacement engine for yet even more power.

4 bangers are great too ya know.
Maybe I will represent the 4 bangers
It's true that there is no replacement for displacement, but still...they race 4 cyl cars too you know. If I remember right, didn't the Indy Fiero record the fastest pace in Indianapoils history? OK, OK, so that was an SD4, but it wasn't a V6 or V8 now was it?
Now I am not saying in anyway that I think that a regular 4 cyl Fiero like Jordans green beast could beat a monster V8.
Fact is though, is that there is a guy I work with that owns a Porsche that he races. It has, get this, a 2.5 little ole 4 banger in it and he blows away 6 cyl and 8 cyl race cars quite often at the tracks. He races a lot at a track in CT. Anyone know what track that might be? I guess I can find out from him in the next few days and post that.
Anyway, we got talking last week and thought it would be cool to try and get his Porsche and Jordans green beast to a track later this year and see who's car is faster.
That ought to be a lot of fun, and great to get on video too.

OK, all you big dogz can go back to your regularely scheduled program with all that arguing and all now.

Steve

the differnece is the Porsche is a high-performance high-revving port injected built 4-cyl vs. the duke which is an economy 98hp low reving throttle body injection gas saver engine. I hope you were kidding about that, no duke fiero will ever take a porsche.

I just realized something. This is the first Trash Can thread in which our esteemed host is a major participant. I feel like I'm in good company.

Too bad all this had to even happen though.
Talk about trashing your credibility.

It's interesting that everyone was speculating that the "real" time was in the 11s. I'm not even so sure about that, but if it was...
Heck. 11s are nothing to sneeze at. Even 12s. Jeez.

Just my $.02. Please continue, by all means.

I just read 6 pages of this crap. I want my hour back.

You guys defending the 8's are just as bad as fierox with the cockiness. It's the same pissing contest that has been played out time and time again. Don't think I'm jumping on a bandwagon here-I'm kinda sick of hearing about his 3.8 too.

And smooth-Some free advice for ya-Let It Slide! Everytime there is a war on this forum, you seem to be in the middle of it. Gt-X dug his own hole, he can get out of it. Not flaming you, just an observation.

You are 110% correct here. But none of the V8 guys seem daring enough to do it. I guess with the V8 alone they are plenty fast so there isnt a need really. Im done arguing, I have some work to get finished.

So, if he kicks my a$$ so what. It will still be fun and be a blast to watch after on video. Just having fun and feeling the rush is what it's all about anyway.
I think many races are won by pure horsepower and tourque, but some are also won not only because of the engine but also because of the driver.
I guess no duke would ever beat a Porsche.... if no one ever tries

Actually, I know a few Porsche's a duke could take. Not all Porsche's were fast.
the base 914's had a 1.6L (I think thats the size) engine and it wasn't that fast. (The 2.0L ones were faster)
The 924's of the mid 80's were also slow. Even the non-turbo 944's were not fast. (I know many that lost to stock V-6 Fiero's)

Fiero5 SEP 02, 08:49 PM
Yeah, this guys Porsche is not anything fancy like a 911 Targa or turbo anything like that.
It's a base 944 (the ones with the fastback big rear bubble type window) that is set up for some kind of racing, but is street driven as well as he has driven it to work a few times.
I have only seen it a few times and did not get a chance to look at it much.
If we can get our cars to a track, it should prove to be interesting
