Is that NOS bottle that Calvin is carrying in your SIG the real thing or is it just for looks?

Just curious......

Mr. S ANYONE just about can have their car "invited" to the "elite" part of any show at Carlisle - custom compact included! 7 years ago I had my car in the ELITE part of Custom Compact when it was still at Carlisle and you probably didn't even have a Fiero.

All I had to do was send in pics - and we all know your car looks better in pics - and everyone who did so was "invited" to compete. So please stop bringing that up and bragging about it. It really isn't difficult to do if you have 10 minutes of your time to fill out the application!

I think that it is really great that your Fiero was part of the show 7 years ago. That is really cool!! Do you possibly have any pics you could show us or at least e-mail me?
As we all know the more exposure we get for our Fieros the better off this hobby will be. I wish more Fiero owners were willing to try and get their Fieros into more of a variety of shows like that. I think there are a few who are looking into going to one like that in NY that is coming up very soon. That should be cool.
Not to take away at all the fact that your Fiero was invited to the "Elite" class at that show back then, but that was after all 7 years ago, and I think you may find that the requirements for getting into the "Elite" class now, as is my understanding, much more strict than it was even just two years ago.
And lurker90, I am serious. I would really love to see pics sometime of your Fiero back then at that show. That must have been so cool, especially as that was about the time that show really started to take off if I remember correctly?

People, this bickering amongst ourselves is pointless. Here we see in one thread many PFF members complaining about other car owners on other forums bashing our Fieros and yet here we all are in our own freakin' forum doing it ourselves to each other. What is wrong with that? Think about it. Maybe, just maybe we can all try and be a little more like adults and all agree at least that at times we may disagree. However, if you all feel that you must continue with insults towards your fellow Fiero enthusiests keeping things stirred up like this for what appears to be for no other reason than for the amusement of a few of you, then at least try and keep it in the trash where it belongs. This public flaming and constant insults to other Fiero enthusiests certainly isn't doing our hobby, the Fiero community or this great forum any good at all. Does anyone want to disagree with that?

Anyone who wants to disagree or attack me on that then truly needs to rethink why they are actually here in this forum in the first place. That is just my opinion of course but I certainly hope that it is actually many others on here as well.

Steve

I just want to make sure you aren't getting the wrong impression about the forum and its members. The current official count is 9406 members. Less than 100 have posted in this thread. Of the 200 posts prior to mine, a majority are the same people posting several times, several people have posted in support of Jordan and his Fiero, many have made no comment at all on it, and many are Steve himself posting. Only a few people have actually been posting mean things. Please don't judge us all by those few.

To answer your question, I wouldn't be all that happy if my car showed up in here, but on the other hand, you just gotta roll with the punches sometimes. If Jordan does see this thread and is hurt, let him know what I said above, its only a few people a long ways away. The world is full of people who can/will hurt your feelings, and if they're so far away that they can only do it via the internet, you're very lucky.

For the last part, I would say that yes, for the most part we all love Fieros no matter what, but we obviously have different tastes. I think there is a fairly simple reason that the green Fiero gets these reactions, and that is that Fiero people are, for lack of a better term, for the most part "old school." Even the young people on the board are fans of muscle cars and sports cars for the most part. Ands its usually one or the other. I don't think I personally know anyone who really likes both muscle cars and tuners (imports). People here don't care for the whole tuner deal because they feel it is a fad and being fueled by the Fast and the Furious movies. More than that, people are angry with the kids tearing around the streets in thier modded Hondas and what not presumably imitating the movies. They are not race car drivers and they are not on a track, and the arrogant manner in which they act and drive is offensive to most people not involved with that scene. The point I'm working to here is that Jordan's Car is crossing over into a realm that a lot of people here have come to dislike and become hostile towards. He and the car, unfortunately, are just being caught in the crossfire. I can assure you that it would get the same reaction if he was 20, not 10.

Because I place such value on fairness, its not unusual to see me playing the Devils Advocate, so here I go again. In the defense of the people who posted against Jordan's Fiero, there are a few things to bear in mind. First, none of them, as far as I can recall from reading all this, ever said anything mean about Jordan himself. They kept to the car, and that shows at least a little class. Second, in all fairness, the things said were not really that mean. I believe that one post was rather cruel, but for the most part, all that was said was that it was ugly. Considering the kinds of things people COULD have said, thats keeping it pretty decent.

I hope that all helps. This forum is not a mean place. But you can't go anywhere without finding people who are going to say things you don't like. Ignore them and go talk to the people you like. No need to get worked up over it, and we wouldn't want you to miss out on all kinds of good, cool Fiero stuff just cause some people steered you off before you got to know the rest of us.

As for me, I'll keep my personal feelings, positive and/or negative, on Jordan's car to myself, because what I think shouldn't matter to you, Jordan, Steve, or anyone else because its not my car, I have nothing to do with it, its not my business, and you don't even know me. All I will say on the subject is that I applaud anyone and everyone who does thier own work. Paying someone to do it all for you carries no weight against something you did yourself. Be proud of the work that went into the project.
