I'll tell you what buddy, no one can confuse anyone else with you.

Everyone here knows what you are.

Where's that 5 grand you owe me?

And why do you keep coming back for more?

I think it's funny that teh smack talker crawfished out of a genuine offer to race for 5K. Having been personally present at races for 5K or more, I can say it weeds out the BS very very quickly. I read that thread about it and it made me laugh because you ate your words DarkH.

But on the other hand, the person offering the 5K never raced either. So making the offer does not warrant any sort of "owing" of money. While I feel this comment was tongue-in-cheek I still feel that clarification is in order. Since the race did not happen nobody owes anyone anything. Still funny that the person talking all the smack crawfished though.

I am an outside observer to this so I'm just calling it as I see it.

If I build a 10 second transverse SBC Fiero, will this end? Just say the word.

No, cause I will head to INTENSE with $30,000 and run an 8.9 hehe. I think archie could run a 10 if he tried, but I also believe a 10 second transverse 3800 is possible too. (namely because there are a bunch of 9 second Grand Prixs).

It's all time and money. How much of each do you want to spend? When a customer comes in and tells me he wants to go fast, my first question is "how much do you have to spend?"
With enough nitrous for my four Webers and a couple of spare getrags, I could easily break the 10 second barrier....and a few trannys

I've never understood why people would want a 10 second fiero. You kill the handling characteristics and the drivability. A 12-13 second car is respectable and drivable. The fiero driveline isn't suited for drag racing. An LS1 would fit this bill perfectly. Small light weight V-8 that should get a fiero into the 12s with little problem. I'm definitly not a fan of big cube, big torque motors in a fiero. Torque and MOI are the #1 killers of driveline parts. 383 strokers belong in trucks pulling trailers, not really in a car with a fragile transmission.

I'd rather build a competative auto x or road course car than worry about how fast my car is in the 1/4. I installed a motor that is quick, but I was also concerned with the amount of torque I was going to put through the getrag.

I think the idea is to build a car capable of turning 10 second times while being streetable, while being able to auto cross. The Fiero with a modified suspension can suit that bill. Computer technology makes that possible. When my wife tells me what she wants in her car, I scratch my head for six months and then build it. Right now I'm building a turboed VR6 Fiero with electric power steering.
I'm not a fan of building 10 second cars or driving them, but I can. The challenge is in the 9's anyway. I was just striking up conversations with the a-hole that trashed my video on Streetfire. You wanna say my Fiero is slow, Let's see you keep your lunch down while riding in it.

I like your VR6 swap, my brother has MK 3 and 4 VR6 GTIs. The 12V and 24V go pretty well.

A smaller displacement turbo engine will put less stress on a driveline. Out of boost the engine doesn't have much torque. The time it takes for boost to spool is what keeps the transmission happy. Instant torque from a big cube engine is another matter.

I don't think its possible to build a fiero that runs 10 second 1/4 miles and can auto x well. A big cube engine will be too snappy and a boosted engine will have too much turbo lag comming out of slow corners.

The auto x I took my Skyline GTR to made me realize this. The whole course was spent in 2nd gear, after a slow turn I would be out of boost and sluggish. My GTR isnt a 10 second car but I could only imagine a 10 second car would be even worse.

A road course is a whole different ballgame. You could build a good road course car that is also fast in a 1/4 mile.
