20th Judging Results (Page 2/15)

Too bad you guys are trying to ruin it for all the others who attended. It sounds like sour grapes to me. "I didn't win so now I'm going to contact my lawyer and MAKE them give me a trophy!". Well, I'll tell you what... if you really need one so badly to stroke your ego, email me your address and I'll send you one of mine. It's people like you that makes all the effort that the volunteers put into this seem thankless. Your attitudes make me sick.

At any kind of judging event there are going to be people who are unhappy with the results. It's not an exact science and it highly subject to human error. If your ego needs that much stroking, I'm sorry. But, what makes you, or your car, so special that your willing to piss on all the effort that went into pulling a show of this magnitude together? What gives you the right to make someone else feel like thay got an award my default?

If you want to make sure that this kind of things doesn't happen again, do something constructive about it... VOLUNTEER ! That's right, volenteer to be a chief judge at a major event. Then when people come complaining to you you can fix it all. YOU can be the one to contact the people holding the trophy to tell them: "Excuse me but there seemst be a mistake, you didn't really win that award. That cry baby over there did.". Yea, right.

And PURPLE REIGN, So they would come over to your trailer to judge your broken car. So what. It was filthy anyway. Do you really think you'd have goten a trophy? Did you take your head out from under your hood long enough to see some of the absolutly flawless cars that where all around? Dirty and broken down, did it derserve a trophy more than those?

I don't often go on a rant like this but you cry babies make me sick. Quit crying and grow up!

Well, since they reclassed everyone, who knows what all of the classes were. For that matter, how many were in each class. "Judging" was done on cleanliness, not stock, none stock, how well the modifications were done, overall appearance, . . . One thing that worked to my advantage, was that the judge also did powdercoating. So we talked about the work I had done.

Reign: Thanks. Although it did not perform that well at the track. Only a 16.4. I think it is running too rich. It may become a 3800 when I have the $$$.

Yeah, there was confusion over "Street Class" too. Some of the judges thought it was Class J, others thought it was Class K, and others thought it was Class Y.

Hi Denny

Sorry you couldn't be with us in Michigan, as for the list of winners I know they will be posted as soon as everyone gets home.

Boomtastic and I arrived home yesterday and we are still trying to get everything unpacked and catch up on some much needed sleep.

Look forward to seeing you at Zinns.

First off, I definitely agree... this is not a matter for courts of any sort. It's still just a damn car show!

Roy- good to meet you, love your car! ...but please be cautious when commenting on a situation that you may not have all the info on. I was one of the people who advised PR to not start a flamewar about this right away... still trying to resolve a few issues quietly (so much for that now with responses like the above being thrown around).

As for you comment about not being likely to take a trophy (this is not just related to PR)... since when is that the whole point of being judged? Would it not have been a good learning experience for him to see how the car was scored? Is it unwise for someone (such as myself included) who obivously has little chance of getting awards, to just show up and not participate? ...just something to think about! (BTW- he put in a lot of polish time between Friday afternoon and Saturday for the show... the car was looking really nice).

With ANY major car show, there will be problems. People will be upset, and issues will be raised. I too was not judged because my car was not able to make it through the judging lanes under it's own power. I had the ONLY front engined Fiero at that show. I trailered the car 2500 miles round trip to show it, only to find out that I wouldn't even be CONSIDERED for a trophy! Paul Hossler was another that couldn't make it through the judging lanes. He had the Huffaker chassis Fiero. Out of 5 people in my class (Class X, Competition Cars), only 2 made it through the lanes, and because of that THEY got trophies! Unfair? Yes. Will I cry foul? No. Should the rules have been made clearer BEFORE I (and everyone else) brought the car to Michigan? Yes, as most car shows that I attended have judges that walk the lot, not sit at judging lanes.

In short, I agree that ANYONE that brought their Fiero to the show should of had a fair chance to compete for a trophy. However a few - myself included - were excluded from competing at all, and for that I am truly sorry. If the judges didn't score your car as YOU thought they should have, that's an issue between you and the judges. They were hired as independent judges, so they would be impartial and everyone would get a 'fair shake'. For those that were unable to be judged at all (like myself), that's another issue entirely, and I hope that it is resolved quickly.

I would shut your narrow minded ass cause your teeth are showing. EVERYONE ( except cocky ass's like yourself ) knew that not being judged at all was BULLSH$T and hey got called on it. I'm not sure about the rest who were judged, but Jason "Fiero Addiction" was right there with me and playing the same tune and he got a well deserved trophy. My big issue is not whether I got to take something home or not it was that I paid my $70 to be in the show and drove 10 hours, in $300 worth of gas all to be told by some a$$hole "were not judging your car" cause you cant "drive" it to the judging lanes. Looks as though your the one with the ego that needs to be popped. You must have gotten the award for biggest prick since I dont see your "prize" or the pile of sh$t you run. For someone with such a big mouth I didnt see YOU volunteer.

I would highly suggest you not stick your nose where you dont have all the facts. I talked with both CFOGI officials and Michigan Fiero Club and learned really who did what and who really deserves credit.

P.S. drain the sh$t from between your ears so you can see the car was CLEAN the day of judging............DUMBASS

OH yea........whose car was in the Michigan paper ?????

I think the point to be made here is not that "I didn't get a trophy". It is that some people got the shaft, because the judging was not consistant. Have your car judged, gives you an idea where you need more work. Sometimes its just cleaning, sometimes more. The orginal comment was that is was not done fairly for everyone. I did get a trophy and I still agree that it could have been done better. Yes, it was a BIG show, and they expected that. Classes should have been judged together, so it was fair to all in that class. There just needed to be a little more planning.

Hey Eric.........I was told by many sources that the competition cars were to be "classed" on thier own and you guys were supposed to "pick the top 3" in your own class................what was that ?
