I'm pissed. At first I was all excited because I was first on the list, but now that I realized it was in alphabetical order my excitement has been short lived.

I can disagree with someone and have a civil discussion with them, but too many people with low ratings think their idea of "telling like it is" is saying "you're ghey" or "you suck" or some other juvenille retort |

We have a phrase for this in the military. It goes "WAAH! my p*ssy hurts!" Get over it. When people are rude to you in public do you whine about it too? You wouldn't last three seconds in the military. People that are higher ranking act like jerk offs to lower ranking people because THEY CAN. You learn to live with it and don't complain because people are rude in this world. Period. I've never used the arguments you mention but I am 100% sure I have received a ton of negative ratings for various opiniated posts along the years I have been here. The NASA incident was a huge one when my red bar exploded, but if you read my post I had factual information to back up everything and later was proven right by many, many outside investigations over the incident. Was I the nicest guy in explaining my opinion? Probably not, but like I said, get over it, even if your p*ssy hurts. You remind me of those whiney people you see on TV saying "My first amendment rights have been violated because I am 300 lbs and my employer won't accomodate my fat ass with personal wheel chair" or something like that. Black88GT I have you as a positive, I don't remember you doing anything that would deserve a negative. I don't even remember the thread you are talking about, so it couldn't have been that big of a deal. I really think that people need to reconsider their ratings and keep a record of why they rate someone negative. Maybe a few deserving members could be rescued from the brink and those less deserving can finally make it over the edge.

I'll give you a bit of a wake up call here. This isn't the military. And people in public are rarely as rude as some here on the forum. If someone said the things to my face that some people say on the forum, the Police would be filling out the report when it's all done. The thing is, most people wouldn't act in public like the fool they present themselves as here on the internet. This is a public forum, but it's Cliff's public forum. Just as the proprietor of an establishment has the right to ask you to leave if you're abusive to his or her patrons; Cliff have the right to do the same. And Cliff has implemented the voting system so we can assist in that and be somewhat self moderating. A drunk sitting in the corner of a restaurant shouting obscenities is not just expressing his opinion or telling it like it is. He is a public nuissance and will be dealt with. The same goes for those who make a nuissance of themselves here.

That's funny, because those types of people are annoying. I believe people have to accept responsibility for their actions. That fat ass has no one but himself to blame for his obesity due to his eating and exercise habits. You have no one but yourself to blame for your ratings due to your posting habits. If that bothers you, take some of your own military advice and suck it up. [This message has been edited by Formula88 (edited 10-08-2004).]

Yea the thread was like 2 years ago but I am sure I still have ratings from it. I agree though that people should review their ratings OR they should expire after a year or something. How many ratings are still floating around from people who don't even post here anymore? And I think that this would solve problems as well because once someone has a red bar they are like "Well screw it, it's red so I might as well act however I want". Maybe if they expired it would be atleast a glimmer of hope. [This message has been edited by Black88GT (edited 10-09-2004).]
