Not surprised at all, just a freindly warning. Its like a bad car accident that you have to look even though you know you shouldnt. I thought I would warn folks incase they ventured over like I did to see the children playing. Rick

I don't know nearly enough about computers to figure out how someone turns a forum thread into a virus or a worm. What thread were you trying to (troll) access? As a moderator of the forum, I have no knowledge of anyone trying to lay virii for our guests. I'm tempted to call bullshit, as I've never heard of a thread in a forum being a worm, and you can mock up anything with Photoshop. But I'll look into it. What thread was it again?

It could be one of many things. You can piggyback viruses onto cookies and jpeg images, among other things.

Call it what you may it happened and I had 3.8SC try since he has a good virus program and he snatched it up to. No photo shop needed and I understand you defending the forum you moderate. Rick

Looks like you might want to update your Avast definitions

http://www.phpbb.com/commun...art=0&st=0&sk=t&sd=a

Looks like it is happening with all phpbb's.

Dammit, you ruined a perfectly good conspiracy.

From the link I posted:

I did a little research and it looks like many people are having this same problem. I started occurring after an update to Avast. More than likely a false positive due to an error in the latest Avast definitions update.

In this post an Avast Administrator says it's it's an obvious false alarm and that they'll be fixing it.

Looks like Avast fixed the problem. If you are still have this problem update your virus definitions.
