OK, what EXACTLY happened? I've seen a few veiled references on a few threads, but for those of us that weren't there, what's the deal? Seems like there were some judging inconsistencies, but there's a lot of uproar for just that.

Maybe this is none of my business, but all this stuff has been posted on a public forum, so you have aroused my curisoity .

I'm not laughing...........and I never said anything about "changing" the judging.......although I agree with your last statement.

Great !!!!!!!! all the naysayers & mindless bashers who have no facts should know.

It takes me 10 hours to get here, actually 15+ with the caravaning troubles. And I realize that is a LOT shorter than it is for others. I decided to arrange to trailer it cause of transmission noise that I had not enough time to look into, in fact the car was brought there in pieces cause I ran out of time and was already up for 72 hours straight . The car does fine since I had to drive it half way from Chicago, and while we were there. After the Waterford race it had overheating issues and once we returned to the hotel is when the engine started to knock. We tore the pan off to find some metal & cyl 4 spun the bearing. We all scatter to get parts & revive it but the machine shop said dont, once the metal is sifted through the engine. I figured worst case I would just push it to the judging lanes (rediculous). The next day ( the show ) i finish cleaning it and walk down to the lanes and ask the judges if it were possible to judge a car where it is since the engine blew yesterday. They said "sure, no problem, we'll just set it up where we do it at the end when we are done." I figure that is around 1:30 or so and came back. They were still busy a extended the time to 3:00 and plan to do it then. So I came back again at about 3:15 and they were done & ready to leave, I said "are you still going to do the last car ? "they said "oh yeh," and ran to grab thier judging sheets and "come show us where it is," and we started on our way, just azt that time Bob Holtz walks up and says "where are you going ?" one of the judges reply's and says "were going to judge the last car!" Bob says "what do you mean ?" the judge says, "this car blew its engine yesterday so were going to judge it where it is." Bob says "NOOOO WAY the car has to be driven up here to be judged, if it cant make it up here under it's own power it cant participate. It's in the rulebook, sorry." I just said O.K. fine ( not knowing there are NO printed rules ) so I mentioned it to a good fiend Kevin Lindeman whose on the CFOGI board along with Rob Bartlet and they said that is just a bunch of crap. Kevin says wait here, I'll deal with it. So later that day Chuck & Dale come over and basically say that it was discussed in the meetings that the cars were to be driven to the lanes for judging, were sorry that is just the way it is, were sorry if we messed up & didnt get it in writing. I said fine if you messed up then give me my registration back. He said we cant do that. It says so on the registration paper you signed. At this point I'm just like whatever, I'll pack my stuff and leave. Kevin said not too and wait a while. CFOGI went to have a meeting and came back to me with this conclusion. Were sorry we messed up & didnt get the rules in writing and we dont want anyone to go home mad, so if you will just come join us at the banquet and you get the hard luck trophy and say you had a good time it would be appretiated. This made me even more furious.........by trying to pass me off and shove me under the rug & keep me quiet. I was ready to shove that trophy up someones wazooo and let everyone know at the banquet.

But instead of making a scene infront of everyone I was more mature than that & just went with flow. Before the banquet started Loyde comes up to me and and starts another proposal. Saying we discussed it some more and Dale put together a package. You have your choice, follow through with the first decision or take this package with is a refund give the banquet ticket back & go home. By now I'm so pissed I could rip someone's head off and spit down thier neck. I didnt want to miss out on what I already planned or Hulkie & Parkie so I stuck with the flow raging in anger and everyone could see it through the ceremony. I've been nothing but furious ever since.
My issues were not with the judging or how it was done or any of that crap. The fact is that I WAS LIED to and the story & "rules" kept changing every 5 minutes and could not be proven on paper. Then to learn from Ron LaFortune what a real jerkoff crybaby Bob Holtz really is and the actual amount of work he did and everyone is thanking him. Makes me want ti vomit Ron, Barb, Chuck, Dale, and many others are the one's that need a big thanks.


Repeat, issues are
#1 being lied to
#2 NO printed rules
#3 Bob Hotlz dropping the guilotine and not apologizing.

The rest of the issues Dale has resolved. Thanks..........

Purple, thanks much for the explanation. I was having a hard time understanding what the big deal was about. Seemed on first read like some people were upset that they didn't get a trophy. I see now that was the wrong impression.

As I said, I wasn't there, so I don't know. But if what you say was what happened, I'd be upset too.

sounds like BS to me Purple. What they did was wrong. I suggest that you get a shotgun, a bunch of firecrackers, and a few of those styrofoam 3D archery target things. Then put a picture of someone you hate(Bob Holtz maybe, whoever that is) on it and blow the targets away.

No, this isn't ment to be funny, i really think you should do that. Blowing things up when im angry sometimes helps. Its better that you kill some styrofam and paper, than hurting a person.

Wow, my first post to the trash can.

Shaun spelled it out pretty much as I know it.

One correction to the part I was directly involved in.

Robert Holtz caught me in the lobby and told me there was a deal for Shaun to get his money back now. Dale Starcher (CFOGi VP) had the cash and proposal.

The deal was for Shaun to take the money and give up the banquet ticket he had. It was a full refund of his $60 or $70 (whatever he paid).
OR
Go to the banquet and recieve the "hard luck" trophy and enjoy the rest of the weekend. Robert Holtz threw in the custom detail package as a bonus item no one knew about except me and dale.

Shaun decided to go to the banquet, and give up the money.

Everyone is expecting Robert H to chime in here and he is out of town from where ever he lives. I have heard he will not return until next week on Tuesday. He does not visit CFOGi forum or Pennocks much anyway.
