An immigration detention facility located at an isolated Everglades airfield surrounded by mosquito-, python- and alligator-filled swamplands is just days away from being operational

An interesting idea................... Not sure how effective it might be but, interesting it is. Does not appear to be a tourism destination. More to the article if one is interested enough to follow the link.

Should have a second backup location near the arctic circle to prevent overcrowding.

Ya, the locals are not to happy https://www.nbcmiami.com/vi...peeds-ahead/3645872/

DeSantis is saying the site will have an "end date". (When the federal money rolls in, I'm sure the "end date" will change.) They are also looking at a site in Starke FL - Camp Blanding, it has more of an infrastructure set up already.

Two environmental charities on Friday filed a lawsuit at a Miami federal court attempting to block the opening of a new migrant processing facility at the Dade-Collier Training and Transition Airport in the Florida Everglades, dubbed "Alligator Alcatraz" by some Republicans.

The suit was launched by Friends of the Everglades and the Center for Biological Diversity who argued the proposal violates the National Environmental Policy and Endangered Species acts.

Governor DeSantis has ??? made it illegal for protesters to block the road during protests. Warning them that if a car hits them, it's your fault.
