He's a 15 years dead man that is still making sausage commercials in 2025... 'His' sausage today, is so lean, that it doesn't even leave enough grease in the skillet to make decent gravy with, which also means it doesn't taste anywhere near as good as it once did. It went downhill when it was owned by Hillshire Farms/Sara lee. I still buy it but there is better (more expensive) sausage out there.

This hit home. I've been buying Farmer John's links which are actually pretty cheap and I like the fat content.

In almost all meats, Fat is flavor. Taste. Renderable fat anyway. Remove all the fat, meat is bland.

This is why turkey burgers suck. Mix in some heavy cream and form the patties around some butter and they actually turn out ok
