Added to a long list of companies that have 'seen the light'.

"Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) is flying away from Kentucky, moving from its ancestral home state and heading to Texas.
The shake-up was announced Tuesday by KFC’s parent company Yum! Brands, which is relocating the chain’s U.S. corporate office to Plano, Texas.
About 100 KFC corporate employees will be relocated in the next six months, according to Yum! Brands, which owns KFC, Taco Bell and Pizza Hut.
Many political leaders in Kentucky spoke out about the relocation of KFC’s corporate office from Louisville, Kentucky.
Andy Beshear, the governor of Kentucky, said he was “disappointed” by the news.
“I am disappointed by this decision and believe the company’s founder would be, too,” Beshear said in a statement. “This company’s name starts with Kentucky, and it has marketed our state’s heritage and culture in the sale of its product. My hope is that the company will rethink moving Kentucky Fried Chicken employees out of Kentucky.”
Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg also expressed disappointment with the corporate reshuffling of workers to Texas, noting that the brand “was born here and is synonymous with Kentucky.”"

It's been "KFC" instead of "Kentucky Fried Chicken", for decades, as I recall. It's probably been almost that long since I've eaten there, too.

Kentucky should have kicked them out when they changed the gravy recipe. I have no idea what crack they had in it but I could make a meal out of 6 biscuits and a quart of gravy.

Probably not but it would be an improvement. I don't know anyone that is happy with the changes 'the colonel' made to what used to be a successful business and recipe. I'm guessing but it's been probably 15 years since it was GOOD chicken and sides.

Several years ago my wife wanted to stop by the original KFC restaurant in KY. We did, she ate, I didn't. While that restaurant had a huge amount of history, pictures, busts and other accolades to Colonel Sanders, it was obviously a very old facility. I didn't eat because, I don't like or eat chicken, it's fowl IMHO.

I was born in June, 1950. On that same day down in Corpus Christi, construction began and just 2 months and 8 days later, the first Whataburger opened. Coincidence? I think not.

I used to eat there every time I visited my Mom, before her passing in 2008. A two story establishment, about three blocks from the Corpus Christi Bay.
The Corpus Christi Bay is an interesting place. The out of commission [url=https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Enterprise_(CV-6)]Grey Ghost[url], USS Enterprise is moored there. The Japanese named her as they had thought they had put her out of service, only to have to fight her again. A good read at my hyperlink. Moored very close to the first Wahataburger.
Also, the Corpus Christi Bay is home to the recreated Christopher Columbus ships, the Niña, Pinta, and Santa María. Recreated for the 500th commemorative anniversary. Recreated with the exact methods and hardware. Coincidently just a few blocks from the first Whataburger.
I hear tell, that Whataburger is now owned by some yay whos in Chicago.

It's too bad they ruined most of their food.. fake honey, fake butter, biscuits are bland starchy and salty, ruined the potpies, got rid of the potato wedges, got rid of the apple turnovers they had for decades, and the ones I miss the most are the grilled chicken and oven roasted chicken. All while increasing prices exponentially of course, well beyond inflation.
No longer eat there, used to be our goto 3-4 times a year.. now replaced by a steak house dinner, which is much cheaper too.

MJ... you will make fun of me, everyone does... but I love Bill Miller's BBQ. Cliff, back me up here, you know that place is awesome.
I don't know if it's the same still as when I left in 2021, but a family of three could have a full course dinner... like, GOOD... with a brownie and a slice of pie, out the door for $23 bucks. It was friggin' amazing.
On the special days though, I'd go to Rudy's BBQ... which of course, they gave you like half a loaf of Wonder Bread to encourage you down your path of getting diabetes. But damn... I do like the KFC bowls.
