Las Vegas Straight Line Tornadoes (Page 1/1)

Ok, I know it's dramatic, but why does no one ever talk about how friggin' windy this city gets? We had gusts of 77mph by my house last night. All of the neighbors who didn't bring in their garbage cans yesterday get to go on a miles-wide scavenger hunt today or pay for new ones. Destroyed my neighbors' gazebo and several trees too.

Did the KC Chiefs come back to town? Didn't know they were scheduled to visit Chiefdoms West.

OK, all kidding aside, Mother Nature always tells us who is in control. It's not like it's the first time that kind of winds blew through. We all decide (for whatever reasons) where we will live. I hate snow, that's why I moved out of Ohio. There are locations that don't experience that kind of winds. Maybe it's time to consider one of those places.

NewDustin, Chicago is know as the windy city. I am not sure if it is named that because of weather phenomena or political verbal bullzhit.

Las Vegas must need a better advertising agent. I believe ... think you are talking about the Santa Anna Winds. They are talked about often. Set an outdoor fire and let the winds help it spread. You will be on the map.

This really was a bad time to post you inquiry. If it helps, the videos of the fire devastation show extinct houses with good trash cans on the curbs of the street.

Chalk one more up to Global Warming.

I'm already at "not another summer out here," and now that Washington isn't a CARB state I could take my Fiero there no problems, and still pay no state income tax. I daydream about the fishing.

TN also has no income tax but, they find other ways to fill the coffers. Fishing? Not my passion but, if that makes you happy, I'm happy for you.

I no longer have a Fiero, after having 22 of those and wanting a convertible, I sold out and bought another Pontiac that I drive in nice weather. But it has to take it's place in line behind my Valkyrie motorcycles.
