I've got a plastic water tank that broke and I want to repair it. A replacement tank is $45 when you can find one.
Anyone have a recommendation for a glue or an affordable coating? A food safe coating can cover regular epoxy that isnt food safe.

Does it have to be “Dishwasher safe”?
Is it a crack or a hole?

Doesn't have to be dishwasher safe. Probably have to hand wash it delicately. I don't really wash the current machine tank very often. Bottled water is all that goes in it.
The broken tank is in pieces right now, but think they're all there. Heavily damaged so an epoxy is probably needed. That's where the food safe coating might be needed to coat the whole repair area. Seller didn't pack it properly for shipment.
Have to look over the Amazon link in a bit.

Sometimes its not about being able to fix something. If this is something that if it fails and will cause more damage than the cost of a new one. Well then by all means you should spend the money and do the right thing. Just saying, you will always doubt the repair. Good luck.

15 years ago in a different life, when I had a broken tank on a slushie machine, I would tape it back together from the inside with masking tape, hit it with epoxy then clean up the inside. Wasnt pretty but it kept the thing going for the week or 2 it took to get back to the place with a new one.

It's a discontinued part for an espresso machine. Eventually one will come up for sale but in the meantime it'd be nice to patch it for use for a while.
All it has to do is hold about 1 cup of water per use.

Breville Duo Temp PRo BES810 There's a possible suffix of BSS, but not sure of that. BES810 is what they're called.[This message has been edited by sourmash (edited 03-20-2021).]
