Don,
That's not really a fair statement. Those two qualities don't necessarily go together and I'm thinking you know that.
As an example, my dog is beautiful but, not all that bright but, on the other hand, my wife's dog (though neurotic) is, sinfully ugly but smart enough to get my wife to do what it wants.
 I think that analogy is applicable. Hmmm.
