Never had an interest but the show, What On Earth? just stated about Scientology that they believe there are 57 senses and some alien souls are attaching themselves to us. If we can shed these souls we get capabilities of the 57 senses.
Now that may not be so much different than my own discoveries and experiences.
So, can we get some enlightenment here without investing all the money on study materials, because I'm pretty broke.

quote | Heinz 57 is a synecdoche of the historical advertising slogan "57 Varieties" by the H. J. Heinz Company located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States. It was developed from the marketing campaign that told consumers about the numerous pickle products available from the Heinz company. |

And the believers in "Law of Attraction" think sitting in a laz-e-boy pretending to drive is going to make the universe give them a Porsche. Making a cut-and-paste poster is going to make the universe give them a big house. Putting on rose glasses and thinking nothing but positive thoughts is going to make anything they dont like disappear because it doesn't exist in their universe. Yes, they are very irritating to be around.
If you want an education in cults, the DVD is called "The Secret" and can be found in dumpsters, thrift shops and bargain bins everywhere. Learning doesnt have to be expensive.

The guy who came up with scientology was a complete fool.....L. Ron Hubbard was placed in charge of a Navy ship that attacked a Mexican island in WW2- he was then removed from command of it. He tried to write science fiction stories but failed miserably....
It is widely known that he developed Scientology specifically to get women into bed with him and his friends.
Once someone stops drinking their "coolaid" they realize how badly they have been fooled by that......>>FOOL<<

Get women into bed, you say? That isn't particularly going to dissuade me.
Poor Kool-aid. Everybody besmirches thee, but in reality it was Flavor-aid.

Sour....Please read about his military record- it is absolutely horrendous.....And even then he was trying to BS everyone as to what he did.
He probably would have done an OK job on a Chain-gang (Maybe)
And personally, I like Country time Black Cherry Lemonade......[This message has been edited by cvxjet (edited 01-23-2021).]

A Mexican island ? The Republic of Texas fielded a Navy and attacked the Mexican nation.
Who placed him in command of a Navy ship ? Who removed him from command of said claim ? Why ? Did he decide to attack Mexico on his own ? That's racist.

This is true.
However in $cientology the proper saying is; "What's true is what is true for you."
$cientology calls those "57 senses" the "Thetan preceptics" and they are supposed to be the complete senses that you had back when you were a space alien dumped on this planet. (which they call "Teegeeack"), by the evil galactic overlord Xenu and before you and millions of your fellow aliens were tossed into a volcano and blown up by hydrogen bombs....
YUP...That is actual $cientology dogma called "OT III" or "Operating Thetan, Level III"
As for those "alien souls" they are properly called by $cientology; "Body Thetans" or "BTs"
They are supposed to be the spirits of your fellow dead space aliens that have not occupied a "meat body" yet and have instead attached themselves all over your body and are the cause of your problems in life.,
Approximately 15-20 minutes from my front door is $cientology's "Mecca" Clearwater, Florida, where they have built an ENORMOUS building that they call "The Super Power Building" where members of the cult go...and pay LOTS of money....to "audit" away those "BTs" infesting their hides and to get training on those 57 Thetan Preceptics which they believe, when fully recovered, will give them "Cause over MEST", which in non-cult language means power over Matter, Energy, Space and Time.
In other words, they believe that they will be "Super Beings"
NO, I am not a $cientologist, nor have I ever been one, however I have studied all of their materials, (including their secret ones), and I also have one of the $cientology "E-meters", which is a device used to "audit" away those "BTs"
WHY?, Because I have spent a good part of the last 20 years helping people escaping the $cientology cult and fighting against the cult's abuses of families and individuals.
I'm "honored" to be one of the few people that have never been a member of the $cientology cult to actually be on their enemies list as a declared "SP", (Suppressive Person)

I know nothing of scientology (and not interested in it either) but from what I've heard of Hubbard's US Navy 'career' I would say it falls under the heading of being a loon and engaging in conduct definitely not following in the highest traditions of the United States Navy. The biggest brightest red flag is when he claimed his 'real records are sealed' and that the records on file are a just smoke screen.

Have you seen the L. R. Scien and the aftermath? I have seen many of them and think it is very interesting. I an torn between accepting "everything" they say and dismissing some of it as "entertainment". It is literally to bizarre to believe
