Covid vaccinations. Thinking 'outside the box' in Philadelphia Assembly Line paradigm (Page 1/1)

You've got to hand it to Philadelphia. They've got a long history of thinking "outside the box" from the Constitutional Convention in 1787 to the "Philly Special" in Super Bowl 52. NBC’s Stephanie Gosk reports on what is just the latest in a series of efforts undertaken by a network of Philadelphia-based graduate students in the fight against Covid-19.

President-elect Biden has declared his goal of vaccinating 100 million Americans in his first 100 days in office. In this video report, STEM-smart graduate student Andrei Doroshin becomes the "face" of a new vaccination center that's up and running in Philadelphia, leveraging Information Technology and an Assembly Line paradigm to "get 'em in, get 'em jabbed and get 'em back out" in record-breaking time.

"Andrei Doroshin, a 22-year-old graduate student in Pennsylvania, shares how he and his classmates created a system that will allow 1,200 people per day get vaccinated at a rate of 150 vaccinations an hour. NBC’s Stephanie Gosk reports for TODAY."

With a population 12,800,000, and at the rate of 1200 vaccinations per day, Pa and this young outside-the-box kicker should have the whole state vaccinated in about 29 years.

There are many who aren't all that concerned about being at the head of the line, or even in the line.

Philadelphia does have a record of thinking outside the box. Witness the events in early November....
