That's two more impeachment managers than the seven-person lineup that Pelosi sent to the Senate for President Trump's first trial that started in January 2020 and ended on February 5, 2020.

It's an all new team of managers, with no carryovers from Impeachment Trial I, which has become known in Impeachment history as "The Immaculate Phone Call."

Pelosi was characteristically upbeat about her squad's chances. "With this younger lineup, we're definitely giving up some 'gravitas', compared to the original Seven, but we're looking for more quickness and versatility. Adding two more managers gives us downfield options that we didn't have before, and we'll be opening up our playbook to get our running backs out on the edges, instead of mostly rushing between the tackles like we did in 'I'.

It's worth noting that this is just one day after the New England Patriots' venerable and legendary head coach Bill Belichick declined the White House's offer to accept the Presidential Medal of Freedom award from President Trump.

Ah but the show must go on.

"The saying and principle are traditional in the theater, but they both originated in the 19th century with circuses."

Yes, the circus must continue else the patrons get restless and riot. Again.

Well, that was the accusation, I'm sure they were completely platonic relationship and only conversed about "secret" things.

In December 2020, Swalwell was named in a report about suspected Chinese spy Christine Fang.[55][56] Axios reported that Fang participated in fundraising for Swalwell's 2014 congressional election bid, met Swalwell at events, and helped place an intern inside Swalwell's congressional office; Swalwell swiftly ended ties with Fang after being warned by federal agents around 2015. Swalwell was not accused of any impropriety according to a U.S. intelligence official

Trump impeached after U.S. Capitol riot; historic second charge

quote

WASHINGTON -- U.S. President Donald Trump was impeached by the U.S. House for a historic second time Wednesday, charged with "incitement of insurrection" over the deadly mob siege of the Capitol in a swift and stunning collapse of his final days in office.

With the Capitol secured by armed National Guard troops inside and out, the House voted 232-197 to impeach Trump. The proceedings moved at lightning speed, with lawmakers voting just one week after violent pro-Trump loyalists stormed the U.S. Capitol, egged on by the president's calls for them to "fight like hell" against the election results.
