Senate Strategy (the Back-up Plan) (Page 1/2) |

If/when we wake up Wednesday and the Georgia run-off is split, I'm going on the record to predict that one or maybe two 'Republican' Senators (i.e. from the large Never-Trump or RINO pool) will flip party to Democrat, being offered a deal that is too good to pass up by Chuck Schumer (or a suitable minion, if he doesn't want to get his hands dirty). Remember Senator Jeffords, who got a committee chair for his services? (Yes, he was an Independent but I mention him just to cite precedent for flipping the Senate after an election.) Now ... I'm NOT asking if you think that is a good-for-the-country strategy or not. I just would like to hear:
1) If you think there is a Low, Medium, or High probability of this scenario playing out, and, 2) WHO you think is most likely to roll over? My money is on Romney.
Remember that no state can recall their Senator. After they are eventually voted out I feel certain a seven figure job will be waiting for them in the private sector ...

I don't think (and never really have thought) a split runoff will be an issue. Not 'official' but.......
quote | Democrats appear on the brink of taking control of the U.S. Senate with Raphael Warnock the projected winner over Republican Sen. Kelly Loeffler and Democrat Jon Ossoff leading Republican Sen. David Perdue in Georgia’s two Senate runoff elections.
Around 2 a.m. ET Wednesday, the Associated Press projected Warnock the winner over Loeffler after the Atlanta pastor built his statewide lead to more than 46,500 votes. |

The devil's gone down to Ga and won the fiddlin 'round contest. (I thought I had responded to this about an hour ago, but I don't see that reply now)[This message has been edited by maryjane (edited 01-06-2021).]

I would strongly suggest watching the stock market closely and make moves appropriate to what every investor thinks is best for themselves. Hold on tight, this could be a rough two year ride.

Of all the possible outcomes you're going to get the same result. Only difference is how quickly it happens. Neither side cares about peons.

As a fellow “Peon”, I always thought I was responsible for my own fate and financial well-being. YMMV

Fate and fortune.
Once upon a time, you were right. Those days are ending in your generation.
In a system like ours that's becoming Mercantilism and economic fascism you don't control your ability to earn. Small businesses already got forced to shutter while billionaires got mega billions in profit. When small business reopened many are still going to fail once they exhaust all the credit they're living on. And since we already don't control the national fiduciary actions we see that inflation evaporates what wealth you are holding.
On controlling your fate, you're in the line to lose but your turn hasn't come yet. The Deep State opened the border to invaders in 2000. They drove out America working poor who worked at egg and poultry producers in rural locales. They drove out the butcher jobs that used to pay well. They drove out the roofers and lawn care services. Now moving to concrete and all construction fields across the country after taking over in major cities.
Deep State, INC. is manipulating the economy into chaos so they can bring in tyranny of social reforms. Big Tech is already shutting down any dissent. You aren't allowed free speech anymore. Next will be your arms. It ends there. You're a subject.

I don’t think any current Republican would ever switch to Democrat, or vice-versa. A Republican to Libertarian, sure. A Democrat to Green or “Progressive”, less likely but maybe. But I don’t see either of the two major arms switching hands.
I also never thought the GA senators would be split. It was always going to be both R or D. The vast majority of people are straight ticket. Trump was the first modern president to shift that a bit (with the previously referred to Never-Trumps), and even then it wasn’t a ton of people—he still got a **** ton of votes.
