"Interruptions make us who we are" ...Covid is a pretty big interruption (Page 1/2)

This guy posted this vid in 2018, he had no idea we would all get a big "interruption" in 2020.
Some reflective thoughts and good simple insight.
Along with a tense conceal carry encounter.

Seems like covid may have given many of us some time to perhaps think about what is really important. A break from the norm.

Beyond that there is also the test covid is putting our Nation through (regardless which country you live in). Testing our reslove, our principles, refining us maybe.

They actually united us. I wonder how much the "media's" response helped with that?

2020's problems are man-made.

Primarily by bureaucrats, Governors and lawyers.

Well the pandemic has defiantly done one thing in my opinion.. Shows a lot of people don't give a crap about their fellow citizens and neighbors anymore.

They're too worried about $$ and being able to get into bars and restaurants.
Found out this afternoon why my nephew abruptly called the day before Christmas and said none of his family would be here for our Christmas dinner.
He, his wife, one of their sons, and that son's wife and kids all have tested positive for covid.
Nephew is having a pretty rough time of it but is not hospitalized and I expect he will recover. I 'think', he's 51. His wife is doing better. He's a policeman, she works at a bank.. loan officer.
They believe the youngest kid picked it up at school and passed it around to the rest of the family.
Last time any of the rest of the extended family were around them was Thanksgiving Day.

The "secret sauce" in California's newly reinvigorated campaign to hold the Number One ranking among the 50 states in Covid infections and hospitalizations

"As Covid crisis grows, many California businesses flout the rules"

SAN DIEGO — Up and down the coastal boulevards of San Diego County, restaurants are buzzing with commerce as customers in sunglasses enjoy cocktails and bar food al fresco.

Sandwich boards placed on sidewalks advertise the services of massage parlors that had been closed for months. Some Southern California gyms are allowing muscle-building indoors. And tribal casinos welcome gamers.

As the pandemic reaches new heights in California, many residents, tourists and business owners are doing the opposite of what's needed to slow the spread of coronavirus, experts say. They're defying stay-at-home rules, recently extended until hospitalizations subside, that ban dining, and nonessential retailers and services.

That's the beginning of the report, which isn't all that long. I'm not here to promote this report, but just for the sake of completeness, here's my usual online citation:

Go here and play around with the order of things in regards to active cases, cases per million, deaths/million etc by using the order function on that website as indicated by the red arrows below and IMO, you see a much more accurate picture than just "total cases".

Yeah had a customer come into my store this morning, talking to one of my coworkers telling him how his wife and 3 kids all have covid, and he hasn't bothered to get tested yet, stating "i still have my taste and smell so i must be fine" as he sits there sniffing and coughing..
