"Covid" Relief Bill (Page 1/6)

5000 pages and two hours to review it before the vote?

Loaded with dollars for non covid items?

In this case, I agree with Senator Rand Paul (edited: and apparently AOC, did hell just freeze over). Over 5500 pages of legislation, much of it agreed to in "secret" meetings and when presented, no amendments allowed with two hours to read it. IIRC, that's how we got this mess we refer to as OBAMA CARE. If I were one of those voting on it, a no vote would be assured. They have had 8 months to get this done and waited to the very end. Very few (if any) actually know what they voted for. Leadership from the Dems should be tarred, feathered and run out of town on a rail. They disgust me.
There was absolutely no reason to not have presented, debated and passed a clean COVID 19 bill all by itself versus attaching it to the annual fiscal bill other than the election.

Not to worry. The ACA was a mere 2700 pages when we passed it 'to see what was in it.' Since this is twice as long I'm sure its twice as good for us in the long run

I will say that since I was approx' 25 (In 1985) I have wanted to pass a law that requires Bills to only have things directly related to them included; Being a bit....un-civilized...I also would like to have included in the law a provision that any lawmaker trying to include something not related to the main item in the bill lose his pay for the whole year....

I hear they're giving illegals $1800. 1200 from last time and 600 this time like REAL Americans.

I should have entitled it Covid "Relief" Bill...

And, just think - this may be the best bill we see out of Congress for the next few years.

Well, until Congress passes the next relief package (which will be huge), but that will be after the inauguration.

A few months ago I quoted the usdebtclock.org projection for 2024 on national debt.
It was 45 trillion on that date. I just checked and it now says 49 trillion.
