quote | Starting in March 2021, customers not on an unlimited data plan who exceed 1.2 TB in a month will have a one-time courtesy month credit under the plan applied to their accounts, and will be responsible for any data overage changes after that. Blocks of 50 GB will automatically be added to customers' accounts for an additional fee of $10 each plus tax. Charges will not exceed $100 each month, no matter how much data a customer uses. *Includes the states of CT, DE, MA, MD, ME, NH, NJ, parts of NC, NY, parts of OH, PA, VA, VT, WV, and the District of Columbia. |

or add $30 or more per month for Unlimited data plans.
Some may remember Several years ago they tried Capping at 300gb w/ X$ for each block over but stopped during Net Neutral fight. Some markets still have them and last year cap was upped to 1TB.
In some area that have a second broadband ISP... If you think moving to FiOS etc. to save money... Only a matter of time they increase fees and cap too. ------------------ Dr. Ian Malcolm: Yeah, but your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should. What was that song from years ago?
"57 channels, and nothing on" - bruce springsteen
Now it's more like 250 channels - and still nothing worth the time it takes to watch.[This message has been edited by olejoedad (edited 12-05-2020).]

I think there's more to it than that.
Modern Monetary Policy... we print money like it's nothing. We just passed a single bill a few months ago for over 1 trillion dollars that sent everyone checks... including people who didn't need it. The reason these things are going up I personally think, is because the value of the dollar is less.

Yup. I was hit with the price increase & data caps also.
I got lots to say about this, but the word "capitalism" trumps every argument I have. It's quite simple. It's what the market will bare.
Bet the prices would come down if half their customers canceled their service. And a year later go up again after their "New Customer" discount expires.
It's seems like the better they do the more they punish the ones that got them there...almost like a tax on customer loyalty.[This message has been edited by Boondawg (edited 12-05-2020).]

More anti-capitalism speak.
Let's be clear... with Socialism, none of this would have ever existed in the first place.

You might want to get your reading comprehension checked.
I'm not anti-capitalist, as my post clearly indicates. What do you think I meant by "What the market will bare".
I know you like to think of me in simple ways that make it easy for you to dismiss me as a thinking human being, but that don't make any of your projections upon me true. If you were interested, you could have just asked.
But that don't quit fit the intent, now does it.

I have lived in several states and have used several ISPs
So far Spectrum has been the best. No contract so I only pay as I go and speed is blazing. As for TV we hardly even turn on the box and I will probably turn it in after the first of the year and just have internet. Sports I dont miss, never was a sports fan.

More like is want they think they will get away charging under Biden. Is Part of Way Comcast and their Unions pump Millions of $ to Dems. Also Remember That Comcast owns NBC and every NBC "News" and "Talk" Shows alone pushes Orange Man Bad. I won't be shock if they hike the prices ever year or 2.

Problem is you Can't avoid paying "Sport Fee" on any TV plan from any service. Now costing everyone on Comcast $120+ per year. You'll think that all Networks have paid NFL et al a huge amount of money so you might think "Broadcast TV Fee" should cover this but no... they also adds "Sport Fee" to everyone using cable or sat TV.
Nearly everyone has a STB on at lest 1 TV because Most brands including high $ units can't use Cable Cards etc. Can't buy STB either in most places because Cable Co etc won't allow you to connect or does but only w/ a very limited service.
I skipped "Franchise Fees" for several reason, two main one... 1. State, County and even most cities tack on this tax as a "fee." 2. Isn't a short list. The "local" version has ~ 16 towns changing Franchise Costs next month. Doesn't list hundreds of others. 3. Some actually dropped but most are between 10 - 20 Cents to bother covering here.

I cut cable a year ago and don't miss it. Unfortunately comcast is the fastest internet in the area so i couldn't get rid of them... However if this starlink stuff has decent speeds(I'm no longer gaming online so i don't care about latency) it may be worth looking into.
