Gamers, what's popular these days ? (Page 1/3)

I'm not exactly "up to date" on what the popular games are, but I got a few requests for Fortnight stuff today. Any other games have a following ?

(To show ya how out of date I am, I still play Diablo 3 every so often )

Diablo 3 still rocks, you play seasons or just jump in for some fun head pounding?
Wizard and Necromancer are still fun, the rest not so much.

Steam had a sale, you missed it I now own the rest of the Tomb raiders games.
If you like RPG and DnD then check out divinity original sin 2 definitive edition, you don't need to play the first one to enjoy it and it runs good on older hardware.

I don't do the multiplayer games (Very often), if it doesn't have a single player mode I'm not going to get it.

I do seasons, usually a Demon Hunter. Meh, I love my ranged weapons.

Its what season 22 now ? I think I've opened a public game twice since 2014. The rest of the time its just running around killing stuff. ...and getting rich.

There was another similar one I used to play, "Sacred". GOT to get that again one of these days.

Been mostly enjoying Forza Horizon 4, only complaints are the online play and relatively limited selection of cars (a lot of cars are limited time and have to be unlocked). The Xbox One controller also eats batteries.

Yeah I've sunk 1000's of hours into Diablo 3, got some near godlike characters lol..

Let me know your name on Battlenet, and we can get together and go slaying demons sometime. (or pm it too me if you want)

I don't play a lot of multiplayer games like I used to, just a few besides Diablo..

Friday the 13th:

I have a group of friends I play the Friday the 13th game on steam with.. The game is really fun, its got some issues, some bugs here and there, but its really a blast playing as Jason, and using his cool supernatural powers to hunt down your friends and murder them in one of literally dozens of different ways, lol.. Or playing as a counselor, working together trying to keep away from Jason, and hiding until the time expires or find one of the many ways to escape, which involve completing a series of objectives. (find the generator, turn on the power, find the cabin with the phone, call the cops, wait for the cops to arrive, then try to make it to the bridge where the cops are waiting.

Dark Souls (series):

I play these games online with my buddy A LOT.. The souls games are some of my favorite games. Very punishing games difficulty wise, but also 100% fair. If you die, its your fault! lol.

It's usually just me and him playing co-op together, but from time to time we will invade other players games and hunt them down for fun.. And from time to time players will set up "Fight Clubs" were a bunch of players hang out in an arena area, and do 1 v 1 battles against each other..

CS:GO:

If you want a simple, but fun objective bases tactical shooter, this is what i play with my buddies. Its old school, but fun. Just ignore the all the microtransactions.

Need For Speed World:

Its an older online need for speed game, its really really good. I was a big part of that games community for years back when it was still officially up and running. But EA shut it down about 5 years ago.. But! Some fans managed to hack the game, and get it back up and running on their own servers, and everything in the game is now free! (well you gotta earn cash by racing to buy stuff, but no real money stuff, that was all taken out.)

Other than that I play more retro games than anything else.. I play my NES, SNES, and Sega Genesis more than anything lol..

Actually i think my Super Nintendo is starting to die.. It still works, but its gotta "warm up" first lol.. Hook it up and turn it on and you get nothing at first (no signal) then after a few minutes the picture will come on and be a bit scratchy, then a few minutes later it clears up and its fine. Gonna pick up another one sometime after the holidays.. i mean i've had the thing since 1992, so its been heavily used for all those years, so maybe some of the cap's are starting to go bad, i should be able to hunt down some and can re-cap the system, help save it.. I did that for my Sega Genesis years ago. And i have a non-working Sega Master System that needs the same treatment. You would be very surprised what a fresh set of caps for a old console will do for it. Colors pop brighter, picture signal is clearer, sounds is cleaned up. Usually even better than when the console was brand new, as back in the late 80's and early 90's console manufacturers were known for using really cheap and crappy caps. Swap in some new modern ones of better quality and its like getting the true potential of your old console.. Then either mod it for HD, or hook it up to a converter, and these old 8 and 16 bit games look gorgeous on modern tv's.

I LOVE computer games... and I mean that seriously.

When I was younger, I played all the Ultima games, all the Wing Commander games, all the Sierra games... you name it. Right now... I don't really play games anymore. I just absolutely cannot find the time... and when I do have the time, I feel bad because I don't want to be a bad example for my daughter and play video games. Growing up, my dad ONLY EVER WORKED. We went on vacations, and he was an awesome dad... but his family upbringing was the same. He grew up in the Netherlands... shoot, let me step back. He was born in a shed in the Netherlands during the NAZI occupation because the family was kicked out. The NAZIs had taken over the family house, and the factory that was also owned by my family. So... born in a shed in 1943, haha. But my grandfather on that side worked his as off and built an empire of a busines. My dad did the exact same thing in America and he would go from the board room where he managed ~300+ employees to quickly dressing out of his suit and into some ridiculous looking stained shirt and shorts to begin building a patio, digging a ditch, planting a tree, or installing an irrigation system. He wouldn't even take off his Omega Seamaster.

So while I love to play games, I really feel guilty about playing them, acknowledging that there are much better things that I should be doing with my time instead.

That said, I have played a few games of Among Us with my daughter... which is friggin' hysterical.
