Red Christmas Truck (Page 1/1)
CoolBlue87GT NOV 12, 12:18 AM
Received Christmas card with a red truck.

The next day I found a small diecast that looked like the one on the card, so, I had to buy it.

I knew what I had to do ......

That is VERY nice.

Is the marking on the door a sticker or a water slide decal, and how did you make it?

Still needs wide white walls. Cool little truck. Nice that you found one like the card.

Thanks, I scanned the card, printed on regular paper, then trimmed the words, then used a light coating of Elmer's glue on the back of the paper. Effectively making a paper decal. So the door has three separate "paper decals", top words, tree, bottom words.

The tree's and stake side wood in the bed of the truck is the same scanned paper cut out.

I also spray painted the front bumper in sliver.

Next upgrade will be painting whitewalls on the tires. There is a slight marking on the tires that mark outline where the whitewalls would be. I'm testing various paints / whiteout that I can thin, with the tires on their side, hoping the liquid will fill in the outline.

This brought back memories when I was younger, building models in the 1970's.
