Computer Gurus... (Page 1/1)

I'm trying some new software. I like the capabilaties on it but am having an issue...dunno if its a conflict or I need to spend on a graphics card. Or something else. It's not a bad STL since it prints fine, its just useless to me as-is

I'm running free cad

https://www.freecadweb.org/

and trying to import an STL file I need to modify

https://cults3d.com/en/3d-m...catinny-l96-et-aw308

OK, so far so good. It imports and is viewable/rotatable fine. Until I try to start breaking it down to modify.

At this point the program freezes/ crashes and I have to reboot to get going again. Done it 1/2 a dozen times at the same point.

I'm running an i5 with 8gig RAM so the only shortage on it is onboard video (Intel). W10 and nothing running in the background. Any ideas ?

If I can get it working its a 5-minute job to do what I need. 5 minutes that's taken a week

Edit.

Ive got no problem with 3d builder or Cura. Or any 2d CAD. Anything 3d (meshmixer, Wings, Scad, FreeCad) is a no-go on this machine and it shouldnt be.
