You just got replaced in less than a years wages.

Old news.

McD and others had fry robots etc For Years. One McD (Believe Rt 73 store just below Circle w/ Rt 70 in NJ) had the fry robot 20+ years ago.
Now unions back groups pushing $15+ an hour just made more reason to use them and cheap to get now.

Plus many are installing Kiosk and self checkout to eliminate Cashiers in past 10 years now.
Many stores w/ self checkout, not just fast food, only have 1 or 2 cashiers on duty and been so for 5+ years and often that's only to avoid ADA lawsuits.

Yep, I can't control who's doing the cooking but, I refuse to use a Kiosk and won't go through a self check out. Just goes against my grain.
I'm going to order through a person and pay a cashier.

for me... It depend on store...
Most places won't self checkout or use Kiosks. Not even at HD Lowes and some others unless have 1-3 small items and not walking all the way to "Contractor" checkout and related...

But Big stores like most Groceries I can ring a large order faster then most "cashiers."

Oh, I understand why, I just don't agree with machines continually taking paying jobs away from folks. We all had to get a start somewhere. I started as a laborer on a ranch and worked my way up to dishwasher. I'm all in favor of new stuff that reduces work loads and makes it safer for employees but, not for things (generally speaking) that are simply to reduce the payroll. Yeah, I'll stand in line before I go through self check out but, I'm retired and have all the time in the world to do what I want to do. Well, all the time that's left for me on the rock we call home. And yes, I used to be a Production Manager with 160 employees who was always looking for a way to do it cheaper, safer and easier but, reducing the work force was never my goal, I could always find other things (that made or saved the company money) for them to do.

Edited: Most of the reasons these "advances" are moving forward is due to that minimum $15.00/hour thing the Dems have been pushing. Companies have to find a way to keep that burger from costing $17.95. Payroll is a major expense. The same things apply to hardware and everything else. More of it is coming but, how's that kid going to get his/her first job. I'm all for kids getting that first job, they learn to start pulling their own weight there. That assumes they learned responsibility at home.
