Ghost Tape Number 10. Are you 'man' enough to endure it? (Page 1/1)

Operation Wandering Soul, or with less formality, "Ghost Tape Number 10", was an audio mix that the U.S. broadcast as a "Psy Op" during the Vietnam War. It was scripted around what were believed to be prevalent cultural beliefs and attitudes among the rank and file of the Viet Cong and their North Vietnamese allies.

Anyone could read more about it on the YouTube page. To wit:

quote
It exploited the belief among many of the Vietnamese people that once a person is dead the remains must be placed in an ancestral burial ground or that person will forever wander aimlessly in space.

Darken your room (if you're in one) and see how long you can endure it.

Or not.

I'm a PsyOps "fan" from way back. Not for any solid reason. And I stumbled over this yesterday on TV. What more reason do I need?

Good napping music. Reminds me of Pink Floyd.

It was a damn good way to draw fire on your position.

I remember this.
Psy-Ops is some very interesting stuff.

From the Korean chick on the radio reminding G.I.s that their girlfriends were cheating on them back home to “The Ride of the Volkrays”(sic) blasting from attack helicopters, all intended to break the fighting spirit.
