Jussie Smollett Gets 150 Days In Jail & 30 Months Probation Over Faked 2019 Attack.

https://deadline.com/2022/0...t-empire-1234975309/

Pulling off his mask, Smollett leapt up screaming “I am not suicidal” soon as the sentence was unveiled and deputies prepared to take him to the Cook County Jail. “If anything happens to me in there, I did not do it,” the performer exclaimed. Led out of the courtroom, Smollett raised his fist in the air and yelled “I am not suicidal, I am innocent!” again.

I listened to the judge's comments before the sentencing. He (the judge) was obviously pissed.
I'm surprised he only got 5 months jail time. I hope he's scared shitless.
He also has to pay $120K to the city for all the time they wasted pursuing this charade.

I very much enjoy the judge's comments:

"(Judge) Linn delivered a scathing rebuke before rendering the sentence, saying Smollett had taken some “scabs off some healing wounds” because he wanted to make himself more famous.

“You’ve turned your life upside down by your misconduct and shenanigans. You’ve destroyed your life as you knew it,” Linn said. “You wanted to get the attention and you were so invested in issues of social justice, and you knew this was a sore spot for everybody in this country… You were throwing a national pity party for yourself.”

Smollett sat impassively, wearing a mask with his hands crossed at the defense table, as Linn called him a “charlatan,” and said the crime had exposed a side of his personality that is “profoundly arrogant and selfish and narcissistic.”

“You’ve turned yourself from riches to rags,” Linn said. “Your very name has become an adverb for lying.”

....

It gets worse for ' Juswee Smullette '
Ending in tears and a puddle on the floor of his cell, all of his new friends in the block in on the party.
Coming out of the slam with a newfound sense of his id, resigned to his future as a sub for the Village People.
The Village People
A perfect example of how a liar can get his d _ _k caught in the machinery, in the attempt to be taken seriously, his delusional credibility.
Dave Chappelle's bit

Every convicted person in prison claims innocence.
(Some actually have been wrongly convicted/improperly sentenced, and even executed, but Smollet isn't one of them)

I was reading some commentary that he's generally let others in similar situations (fake crimes leading to police investigations) with generally "less" ... and so to do 5 full years would have been making a spectacle of him. If the commentary is right, based on prior convictions, the judge actually went a little bit lenient on him.

6 months is nothing... and it's not like he's going to a maximum security prison... he's probably just going to a minimum security prison in which he can probably have a TV in his cell, and other crap. If our soldiers can spend 6 months in barracks in the middle of the desert getting shot at, then he can spend 6 months in jail where he's fed, clothed, and given recess time to work out and play on the playground. I don't AT ALL feel sorry for him.

This should have been tried as a hate crime and broke new ground.
But at least he is facing some punishment.
Justice? Well its a start.

Why isn't this, and other threads in the Political section?
rinselberg MAR 12, 12:25 AM
It looks like the Original Poster used the General checkbox. Not Politics.

Aside from that, I think that Cliff Pennock is just moving old threads like this into the Politics & Religion section upon request. If someone requests it of him.

Is Jussie Smollett worth any extra from you (Fats) or from Cliff Pennock?

"We're aware that the Jussie Smollett thread is in the Totally O/T section. I've not been aware of any expressions of concern about it, or of anyone seeing a need to flag it for the Deconfliction Process, which would be a prerequisite for having it moved to the Politics & Religion section. I can check, after we're done here, and get back to you at tomorrow's briefing."
