Living in the woods for the first part of my life, it's what I was taught.
You fed yourself off the land, and your "Rocking Chair" money was your salt, sugar, & flour money.
I was also taught that The Stock Market was a scam that rich people used to get their hands on poor people's money.
And not a single word about saving money.

I believed everything my Dad told me.
And nothing he didn't.

A socialist is actually just a communist that doesn't have the power to take everything you own at gunpoint.......yet.

It's all sad. I don't expect to get a penny when I "retire" (which this day and age just means you are no longer able to work and need to go into a nursing home and die.)

I understand I need to be a good little socialist and pay into the system to prop up the pyramid scheme for as long as possible, but I don't like being forced at gunpoint to provide for people. Let me do it on my own, I'm fine.

The sad thing is, it requires you, even if you don't want it.

That really is just it. Let me decide what goes where with my earnings, be it monetarily or happiness. Yes, happiness is earned.

Just one prime example please... Where has Socialism worked? Heck, where has a Democratic worked? Hint, they all fail over time. (France as an example.)

This is why we need to remember to keep fighting its advance each step of the way.

We can not tax ourselves into prosperity, least we forget the government doesn't produce anything but rules and regulations.
Working hard should be rewarded. You should not have your hard earned money taken and given to someone else who is able to work.
Social Security should never be used for anyone that didn't pay into the system.
There are enough government tits out there lets stop bleeding the money we put into it for those that wont work for themselves.

If we capped all government employee wages to their lowest constituent I bet there would be change.
Just who is working for me?
