Presidential Pardons? (Page 7/7)
sourmash JAN 19, 09:11 PM
Disagree. They should only be looked to for clarifying what the law of the Constitition limits or states. If it allows pardons and doesn't limit it as to who can be from whom, then self pardon should be allowed.

The spirit of intent is an opinion, not law.

Is there a list of the pardons that were done today? I haven't seen anything.
maryjane JAN 19, 10:58 PM
No 'official' list out and there may not be for the public. Maybe, after high noon tomorrow...
Someone name Lil Wayne is reportedly on the list of 100 names tho.
Trump probably won't issue a pardon for himself or for his family, but there is some speculation he might issue a blanket pardon for any federal crime committed during the congress debacle a few days ago.
(There is precedent for that)

Supposedly full list, tho most of them I have never heard of, and some don't really go into what they were convicted of.
LOTS of small time non-violent drug cases tho.

That's just "eye candy." To make it look good. It's like a Jet Sweep, where the offense (Trump) wants to distract you from his intended target, which is one of the receivers that are split off wide to the right and stacked one behind the other. Remember--Secret Pardons. You don't know everyone that's been pardoned.

Jus' sayin'

I appreciate Don posting that list, thanks.

Having read through about 2/3rds of it, it becomes obvious that who you know makes a big difference in getting a pardon or commuted sentence.
But, it's not any different from previous President's pardons. Many of those on the list would never be considered if I were in a position to make such decisions.
Yeah, I know. Being a hardass ain't easy.

All presidents pass out pardons as they exit the job. Obama pardoned Mark Rich one of his political financiers who was a criminal. Biden would pardon Hunter if he ever was investigated and convicted for his criminal activities. But we know that any Hunter investigation would be squashed by the corrupted FBI.

Nor does anyone else (that word is all inclusive and includes you)
If one assumes any even exist, no one knows who they might be.
maybe Jack Ruby?
