Of course you do.

Cultural Marxists like you have always been about trying to destroy any history that you don't like.

Here are some of your Red Guard comrades in action:

OOPS!....There's some of your Leftist "heritage" and history that you need to try to cover up.....

There is more to the flag debate than what we see on the surface. I once believed that the Civil war was simply about slavery and that the south was completely wrong- A simple answer that really doesn't hardly scratch the surface.

This country wasn't yet a century old when this, one of the defining situations in our nation happened. We now look back and see an oppressed people- a moral dilemma that stained this nation and the constitution.

But most in the south both back then and even today see it as a question of how the constitution applies to the rights of the people of this nation. The separation of Federal control vs state control- the basic right of the individual- This is very hard to understand and it took me a long time to understand it.
Are there racists in the south, ones that use the confederate flag as a symbol of their hatred? Of course! But there are a large percentage of the southern population that see it as a symbol more of their history, their fight to have freedoms that they believed were guaranteed in the constitution. The total devastation that the south suffered is beyond anything that most of us today can comprehend- and, of course, their economy was basically eliminated- no, this is not questioning that it had to be- I'm just trying to state how tragic this was to the people of the south. To understand and even sympathize with southerners is not to belittle the horror that was slavery.....The need to stop slavery was a moral imperative straight out of the constitution....And the devastation was necessary because of the strong beliefs that had their roots(on both sides) in the constitution that we love.
I believe we can honor the thousands that died from the south, while still rejecting the moral stain that is racism.

I am not sure how we should go about it- remember that the Stars and Bars comes directly from the British flag- it is not handed down from on high; Maybe we could create a new flag that can symbolize the sacrifices of the south, and the belief that it is right(For everyone) to question the country's leadership at times, while still rejecting slavery and racism. One of the greatest and most important principles of this country is the right to question leadership, to state our opposition to what our leaders are doing. A large percentage of other govts, both past and present, have not allowed this or have severely limited the right of the people to speak out against their govt.
I think it is wrong to allow the people that do hate to take a symbol of a large percentage of the population of this country at the time and use it for their own purposes....Let us use it instead to symbolize our right to disagree with our govt, the sacrifices of the south, and maybe the dawn of the future where the two sides can move on- together.

We don't need (or want) a new flag to represent the former states of the Confederacy.

The U.S. flag remains constant in its design, but the ideas that it evokes when people see it change over time--and need to change over time.

That includes White Supremacy, Slavery, and also the apportionment of rights and responsibilities among the individual States, vs. the Federal government.

There's no place in modern times for White Supremacy or Slavery, but the boundary that divides "Federal" from "State" is mostly open to debate and the possibilities of change through lawful processes.

The U.S. flag should be associated with those lawful processes--the U.S. Constitution and all that derives from it--and not with any particular or exacting definition of the boundaries between "Federal" and "State."

Change minds, not flags.

Not a new flag- a modification of what we had at the end of the Civil war; Take the US flag and the Confederate flag and put them together (Vertically) and use that combo flag for all of the battlefields of the Civil war.

I guess you didn't actually send a letter to the office of South Carolina's Governor Nikki Haley?

The Civil War battlefields, as they are maintained with respect towards the fallen of the Confederacy as well as the Union, are conciliatory in and of themselves.

A "combo" flag to represent the Union and the Confederacy, all at once--that's "excessively" conciliatory--as was this towering statue of Robert E. Lee that has just been removed from Richmond's Monuments Avenue.
