Funny that I should come across this post about an hour after I emailed a woman whom I last saw back in 1980. She was this sweet attractive 18 year old that I was totally infatuated with, and dated a few times... and then I sort of messed up. I've regretted it all these years. Anyway, I stumbled across some contact info for her today... so I crafted a lovely email (if I do say so myself) and fired it off tonight. It'll be interesting to see if I get a response.

I think a lot of us have probably suffered a "similar story"... of lost opportunity while young (and stupid) with a significant other. The uniqueness of being able to re-connect after so many years of no contact isn't lost on me. We're planning to meet for coffee later next week. There better be a large pot of it, as we've got 40 years to catch up on!
