That would be... rich!

BTW... Somehow, I've managed to avoid any scrutiny by the "internet powers that be".
You can google my name and my cell phone number.

Nothing. Other than lots of false hits on people who obviously are someone else.

This story is getting weirder and weirder.

So now there are two person's claiming to be him. One is the person sending me all those nasty messages and the other claims he is the "real" owner of the account and has no idea what's going on. Upon request of the latter, I'm anonymizing his account.

So from now on, he will be known as "Nurb432".

Doesn't really matter if there are two people now claiming to be Burn451 or not... as the "real" owner of the account was a total ass while here anyway.

Damn, our own "To Tell the Truth". Fitting with us old geezers that it would be subsidized by Geritol...

Exactly, just ban his ass and get it over with. The guy was a turd while here.

But here is the plot twist:

I just got a message from someone who claims to be the "real" Nurb432. He said he received an email from someone asking why he is doing what he does. But he had no clue what he was talking about. He hadn't been on the forum for around 10 years or so. Now I don't know yet who to believe.

PFF isn't the only forum "Nurb432" has been trying to get all his content deleted from. I know of several other forums where he "requested" the same. All reacted exactly how I did. They can anonymize his posts, but can't/won't delete his posts. He accepted that as a viable solution, just not on PFF. And I'm not sure why. He also deleted his online presence on many more sites - not only forums.

But yeah, This is getting a bit strange. If the "real" Nurb432 is reading this, I mean, the "Nurb432" who is claiming he doesn't know what the hell is going on, shoot me an email.

If True... Not strange, weird, etc but Common because that can happen when people are stupid & use same or very similar password on many sites including banks & utility billing sites. Or People using Browsers, text files, etc to store PW then get Malware that copies all to 3rd parties. More so when site Admins are stupid too & don't auto lock an account for several bad login attempts because the bad actors often get an user name then try similar guessing or just "brute force" using dictionary & related attacks.

Even in Novell Netware 2 & 3 & early MS Servers Decades ago can lock permanent or temporary after X bad logins but many admins was stupid lazy or worse & didn't bother then wonder how someone got in.

Some sites finally woke up & if you try that w/ many banks now, X number of bad logins even days apart can lock an account. I had a Bank account locked just for this reason last month because someone else tried & failed repeatedly over several days.

Well, yes! Mainly that the anonymization feature works! I had implemented this some time ago, but hadn't tested it thoroughly. But it works perfectly. 😄

Oh.... some tasty drama? I have no context for any of this. So , not so tasty.
Certainly can't beat the flame wars of 20 years ago. Those were the best.

For example: Punching someone in the face until they no longer think the way they did before is effectively changing their mind in a statistically positive way.
